After the wave of sword and sandal films subsided in the mid-1960s, it took half a decade before director Bitto ALBERTINI attempted a comeback of the genre. And with Brad HARRIS he also had one of Steve REEVES' most capable epigones on board.

The story is completely irrelevant: the Romans had to fend off the Germanic tribes in 300 AD, and the once persecuted Christians were also gaining more and more influence. There are enough opportunities for three extremely strong warriors (in addition to HARRIS, Raf BALDASSARRE and Paolo ROSANI) to beat up their numerous opponents as they please. From these scenes and some of the nonsense you can tell that the fist fight comedies with SPENCER/HILL were currently very popular. And Brad HARRIS distributes with visible joy, as he has the proven cascaders around Giovanni CIANFRIGLIA at his disposal as cannon fodder. With Massimo SERATO there is a proven villain available, but the beautiful women like Maria Pia CONTE and Adler GRAY remain unusually pale. But Brad HARRIS, who was almost 40 years old, was still in great shape, which is clearly reflected in a legendary quartering scene.
