The older Marc Dorcel tiles, at least the ones I've been excavating lately, have a great deal of charm and class that's missing in his more assembly-line recent efforts. This fantasy is terrific -light and arousing with quality sexual performances.
The format is simple (probably what's fun about vintage Dorcel from decades back): a hot married couple Tenessy & Christophe Clark have sex together and then go to sleep in their bed, side by side, and we see each of them in turn have a sex dream, ultimately yielding 10 sex vignettes in a compact 84-minute video (how Old School!). Personally I am enamored of the concise approach of the Golden Age of Adult, compared to 21st Century porn with each sex scene lasting 20 minutes to an hour (whew!) long as if that were a plus.
Talented director Michel Ricaud (I recommend several of his other features: Rendezvous of Sylvia, Mansion of Desire and The Chastity Belt) uses an elegant linking device to knit together the numerous pantomime scenes: after each dream the camera roams around their bedroom and fixes on some object or keepsake to introduce the next segment: a cigarette lighter, a makeup compact, money (French francs, pre-Euros), key, or pill box.
Each scene is directed with style and an element of fantasy -representing dreams, after all. The Pavlovian insistence in 99% of porn to deliver a money shot like clock work is abandoned -several hot boy/girl scenes end without that visual crutch.
Besides the beautiful (and unjustly obscure) Tenessy, Christelle Deballiere is another fabulous performer, and the feature demonstrates a wonderful middle ground between empty gonzo junk and talky features that over-rely upon too much plot/blather -like those horrendous "parodies". Both female stars (Tenessy called "Miss France") can be seen in Mario Salieri's excellent "Naples-Paris" thrillers, both available in Sarah Young editions.
