By 2002 the great porn label Adam & Eve was transitioning from its Golden Age of classic romantic movies to increasingly pedestrian content. Director Roy Karch embodies this shift from great filmmaking (auteurs like Nick Orleans, Nick Steele, Cameron Grant, Candida Royalle, Bud Lee) to eventually total hacks (Daniel Dakota, David Lord, etc.), with the occasional throwback to quality via Kay Brandt or Skye Blue waiting in the wings.
Long before his hambone cameo as an in-your-face waiter, Karch announces his presence with a very dull script, boring direction and uninteresting characters. Heroine and constant Adam & Eve contributor over the decades Alexandra Silk stars as a gal dating Steve Hatcher who insists on uttering the title reference: "We're from different worlds" several times to remind us loyal viewers what we're sitting through, as Slumberland beckons.
Hatcher's pal Mickey G. keeps lecturing him on how to handle women, but the expected rom-com routines fail to materialize as Karch is only treading water between sex scenes. The romantic content is there but uninvolving, truly a nothing film.
Silk's supporting cast is weak, especially considering the abundance of turn of this century superstars who might have been hired.
