GAME review :
Bhai ki film!
Based on the Dawood- Chhota Rajan nexus, Game was almost a precursor to Ram Gopal Varma's Company (2002). Both the plots were similar in nature with Naseeruddin Shah playing Ajay Devgan and Aditya Panscholi cast in Vivek Oberoi's role from Company. There was Rahul Roy also as an unemployed youth who takes to crime.
Game attained notoriety when its producer was arrested for underworld links at its Mumbai premiere (not aware which theatre it was). The film made front page news but didnt benefit from the negative publicity and turned a flop at the box office.
I caught Game at Dadar's Kohinoor where it was surprisingly housefull on its first Saturday. The audience liked Aditya's performance which was similar to his earlier hit Saathi (1991). However as the film progressed, the focus shifted to Rahul Roy's character which kinda dropped the tempo. With sharp editing and shorter length, Game could've been a great watch. Nevertheless, a decent one timer with an important message that crime never pays!!
