The innocence of children while battling a purposeless war is what makes this is a precious gem to be appreciated by we, the grown-up's. The "Big Pie Raid"
has the real feeling of a World War with kid soldiers fighting in trenches, throwing objects, mud and then pies at each other...but what's this whole battle for?
Possibly just to defeat the enemy, to feel superior showing who's got the best weapons (even animals join their fun as part of the crew) and conquer this little victory. The wars the world has seen before after and this short film were all made
to destroy people, places, conquer territories, money, treasures and to impose different kinds of point of view, new politics, overthrown leaders and regimes or
begin a new one. We're always of some third world war to come because every once in a while there's someone to start a conflict just for their needs without thinking of
the world be prived of...the future of children. Good and innocent as the ones presented in this lovely film.
Nothing but fun, humor, amusing moments, surprises and kids being themselves. Even the few adults that appear as innocent victims, "casulaties of war", don't
feel annoyed or deeply disturbed by their actions. The man with the wagon of pies feels lost, the loving couple in the car when the man is hit by one pie gets distracted while his girlfriends laughts at him. They don't stop the kids playful war. The ultimate gain the children have while mud and cream hit their faces and they fall on the ground is having a great time (the close-up shots are amazingly well captured). I had a great time too! 10/10
