a new visual language completely his own that revels in cinematographic leaps and stillness of thematic center

I had the opportunity to watch the short film at its Sundance premiere. Traces the papery thin border of attachment that separates the living and the dead... & the bright dispatches from the underworld. Reminiscent of Kiarostami as well as Apichatpong, with a new visual language completely homegrown and his own that revels in cinematographic leaps and stillness of thematic center. There is something deeply felt and personal at work here, and a visual ease that belies complex technical cinematographic decisions.
