Judge Grindstump mentions "scaphism" as one of the methods of execution. Guybrush has no idea what it is, but Stan tells him that "you don't wanna know". Scaphism is a method of torturous execution which originated in ancient Persia. The convict was usually stripped naked, covered in milk and honey, and locked away in a very confined space that was then exposed to the sun. The milk and honey then attracted countless insects, biting and stinging the defenseless victim, and even burrowing in the flesh, causing a prolonged agony that usually ended in death from a combination of dehydration, starvation and septic shock.
