This is a show aimed at the under 2's. I'm a bit surprised to read grown-ups dissatisfaction with the show as it is not, after all, aimed at them at all.
It is just right for very young children, aged 12-18 months who want to watch something as the rest of the family does but very little captured their attention just yet. Baby Jake is just this, with some songs and basic dance routine that's easy to repeat. There isn't much talking on the show as most of the young toddlers aren't verbal yet anyway.
There's lot of baby sounds and laughter and this generally has a feel good feeling.
I've been watching this with my 13-months old and he rather enjoys the baby he sees and tries to copy his dance moves. I catch myself humming the tune, as it is quite catchy.
