Anonymous;Code is very cool and epic. Fastest I have ever read a VN, finishing the entire thing in just 3 days, I really enjoyed the journey and have thought a lot about it since then.
I love the characters - the main two at least, the rest are cool BUT the lack of side routes does make it harder to get too attached to them, unlike the rest of SciAdv which has always had routes. Which is probably my biggest criticism I have with this, it is the only novel in the series that probably won't really leave you too emotional and attached to the non main characters.
Out of the whole SciAdv series it really does seem the most high quality made in terms of the UI design and the 3D style + animation worked really well. Max Mittelman was a good choice for the dub voice since if you're gonna have to listen to the main character for hours and hours, make it a great voice actor.
The SciAdv lore gets pretty deep and this entry doesn't disappoint, giving you a much bigger idea of the world and understanding of many mechanics. To my shock, it even turned the Steins;Gate Movie canon, explaining what it didn't, and making it make sense.
With most series there's always the worry that a new entry will start contradicting things, rules, mechanics and what not, Anonymous;Code did the opposite by not only expanding but explaining questions and 'holes' that have existed for over a decade. Some things are still unanswered, but I'm certain it'll come up in whatever comes next.
This isn't the end of SciAdv, there's things we still need to find out about that have been set up from the very beginning, and I'm excited to see what's next. Where does it go from here?
How's it going to end??
