The Honey Trap

Perhaps overly tipping the balance between narrative and sex action towards the latter, Anjali Kara's THE HONEY TRAP is nevertheless an arousing riff on British gangster genre videos. If I were running the entertainment industry (don't worry, my suggestions have been rejected over the years by everyone, even the great Lindsay Anderson during a 1980s interview), I would assign Ms. Kara to direct a feature length movie based on Sade's "Smooth Operator", itself having generated a lengthy and most satisfying storyline music video 30 years ago (ouch, doesn't seem that long!).

Each gonzo sex segment is introduced with a minimal story set-up and some dialog interchanges, to flesh out the high-concept story of a secret spy cam recording plot to blackmail and discredit leading figures in London. I would bet that the idea came in part from the phone-hacking scandal of several years back, though the time line indicates that real-life phenomenon came to light in 2011, making this 2010 production prescient.

In casting, Kara (an attractive normal looking actress from India herself) matches big breasted-women to huge-cock males, virtually a sure-fire formula for 21st Century porn audiences. Jess Kane (not sure which actor plays him) is a Fleet Street editor who is involved in the plot, and I leave it to my British counterparts to determine if there are any resemblances between him and other characters to real personages.

Kerry Louise, not cast as herself but given her same name and profession, is a chest-wise standout, whether covered in soap in the bath, or humping a lucky banker played by Demetri XXX. Biggest cock in the bunch, Danny D (who one sees in porn shot all over the world) gets to play a rock star who gets to service Lolly Badcock (great moniker), latter decked out in black patent leather and high boots.

Holly D seduces security man Peter Oh Toole in an effective subplot. Popular cutie Karlie Simon has a threesome on a white-on-white set with sax wailing on the soundtrack, resulting in anal sex and a facial.

Marc Rose portrays a pro footballer matched to busty blonde Katie Amari, with his endorsement deals jeopardized by the potential scandal. Amari's long red gloves are an excellent touch, mated to her red mesh hose.

Hardly my ideal of entertainment, but a satisfying "porn potboiler" for the fans.
