No pun intended - if we are lucky we will grow old. Well "lucky" might be a stretch for some especially when it comes to health but also wealth. In this case (short movie) we focus on the health aspect. We do not know how much money is at play (or rather how much is available) - though one can imagine it is not that much, otherwise another person would have been hired to help.

That said, this seems quite traditional, so the mother might not have wanted anyone else than the daughter to help her. Depending on where you grew up, what society is like where you live ... you may feel and understand this more than others. The young take care of the old - that's how it should be. But the young should not sacrifice their health by doing just that ... so there are a lot of themes and a lot of things that will touch some people more than others ... and there is a bit of horror mixed in ... for good measure. Well done and suspenseful from start to finish.
