We got withdrawal symptoms after we ran out of A & P Production films. OnlyFangs won't come out until 2025, so we need it to find our monthly dose of VHS/Grindhouse nostalgia fast.
Luckily, we finally rented this film directed by Bob Place.
An early scene of a female rock band traveling on a van (à la Josie and Pussycats) talking about tarot cards quickly convinced us that this was a micro budget film made for weirdos like us, and that the high of it would get us through the month. The Stevie Nicks jokes proved this further.
Any Indie bands out there who have dealt with other weird groups or sleazy bar owners will love the second act of this film, that is if they like seeing penicillin jokes, nasty bathroom sex scenes, puke, gore, and faces diving into mountains of cocaine.
The Loomis character (a doctor searching for the pig face masked slasher) coincidentally looks and acts like my father-in-law, giving this film that personal connection that we're always trying to find in art. Every time he appeared on film we just couldn't stop giggling. No spoilers. But if laughing out loud is a thing that you like doing in life, check this film out.
