I randomly found this film when I was searching for historical content on Exodus and Prophet Moses. I appreciate the film for what it is. The filmmakers did an exceptional job with the cinematography, story, and overall content. I enjoyed the history, different historical sites, and the conversations with the experts/historians in the area for each segment.
I have been to Egypt before and know how difficult it can be to access certain places so I really appreciate the effort they put into documenting sites that are not commonly known such as Luxor, Jabal Musa, Mount Nebo, etc.
What I enjoyed most was how the filmmakers weaved in their personal experiences with the religious content. This did not feel like a lecture or a typical historical documentary. This felt like a conversation I would have with close friends about what faith means to me, all while exploring one of the proposed paths that Prophet Moses may have taken.
One of my favorite parts was when they are talking about how the Israelites had to wander the wilderness for 40 years. The voiceover said that perhaps we are all wandering at some point, stumbling and tripping over ourselves. It was a short line but I could definitely relate. The experiences, the passion, history all made this documentary film feel relatable.
For what the film is, I really enjoyed and appreciate what Jeremy Dehut and crew accomplished.
