"Hari ng Selda" has a decent cast - mainly the always watchable Robin Pedilla and the young and sweet looking Angelika dela Cruz - but is overlong (122 min) and sometimes lacks logic. The erotic scenes seem superfluous in this movie and so do the always embarrassing gay sidekicks. Filipino movies always seem to have at least one annoying gay sidekick (witness Dahil may isang ikaw, Eto na naman ako, Bahay ni lola and many more).
It's rather competent in the action department though. And there are some tough scenes involving the wardens of the prison killing the prisoners. Overall, I'd say it's watchable and apart from the gay comic relief never really bad.
Rating: 5 /10
