M. P. is a movie filmed by a secular filmmaker about two young pastors fighting the good fight against pornography. Except these pastors go about it in a new and surprising ways. They don't just speak out about pornography they go to the heart of the problem. They rent booths at porn shows and do as much as they can to reach out to those in the throws of industry. From their wives in bunny (very UN-Playboy like!) suits to handing out post cards that say, "Jesus Loves Porn Stars" these pastors are doing all they can to break through to those addicted to pornography. Why are they against pornography? It ruins families, hurts children and animals, disregards basic humanity and causes people to live obsessed lives. The movie focuses on the disappointments and victories as these very intriguing and funny California pastors create and promote their website. This website is designed to be a tool for those who actually want to change their behavior and includes software I found fascinating. This software tracks and lists the websites a person is viewing and sends a report with a list of these sites to the persons friend or accountability partner. What a great idea. We get to see one young man and how this software affected his life for the better. While I understand why the filmmaker included the stuff he did to show how truly disgusting pornography is, even to the pastor's unexpected resource, a porno film producer. I still thought this movie could have been a little less graphic. However, this film leaves you feeling glad that there are at least some people willing to stand up and put themselves on the line to save the lives of others.
