Morphin(e) (2005)
A+ across the board
19 April 2005
Let me start by saying that I have seen many short films and Morphin(e) is one of the most suspenseful and exciting shorts I have ever seen. It felt like a full length feature film to me. The director really seems to know what he is doing.

The acting was just great to say the least. The lead played by Paul Alessi did an outstanding job, I was on the edge of my seat the whole film. I felt the bathroom scene with the nurse and Jack was very intense. The crazy nurse was just chilling, I wanted to jump in the screen and kill her. The big security guard that tosses Jack in the hall was very convincing.

The height of the film was nicely built up and supported by the score, it just pulled me in and added a really great sense of emotion. The relationship between the Sheriff and Jack was sincere, they seemed like real life buddies. The ending of the film was a bitter sweet for me. I look forward to seeing a feature film from Director Alex Ranarivelo as well as all of the actors.
