An Unusual Hong Kong Category III Film
10 December 2024
Among the numerous Hong Kong Category III films, this one is unique: not too bloody, not much killing, not much sex. The director and the writers put much more emphasis on depicting the emotional worlds of the three criminals. Thanks to the great actors, it was a success.

This is smart, since the case this film based on does not seem as horrible as other Cat III movies. The case is mostly known for being the last death sentence in Hong Kong (in fact, it is not), and this film successfully presents it from another perspective.

In short, it is a good movie and definitely worth watching, but you may be disappointed if you are looking for typical stuff a Cat III movie would bring.
