Unexpected turns in time worth every minute
6 January 2025
Somewhere in Between is an interesting and captivating short story about two friends, Emily and Jack, who come together to celebrate New Year's Eve-when they are unexpectedly visited by a man from the future with an important message. It's essentially a time-travel comedy with a romantic twist-almost like a spoof of Back to the Future. And wow, they managed to pack so much into just 15 minutes! There are also several unexpected plot twists that genuinely surprised me as a viewer.

This short film features only three actors, but they do an excellent job, especially the two main leads, who really shine in their roles. Although the story is set in the 2020s, the film's vibe-along with the props and gadgets-feels like something straight out of the 1990s. That retro touch adds to the charm and really amplifies the comedy and the core theme of the story.

I watched this short film right after New Year's, so it felt even more fitting for the occasion. That said, it's a fun and well-crafted short story that can be enjoyed at any time of the year. It's a great example of how much storytelling and entertainment can be packed into a short format.
