The Right Way (2004)
10/10
"Draws you in right from the start"

The Right Way hits viewers with themes of isolation, helplessness and fear of failure (amongst others). I would guess that there is seldom a member in the audience that cannot find a way to relate to these characters in some way. If not personally, then certainly through the lives/experiences of someone close to them. Mark Penney has definitely brought the film to a darker place than many filmmakers are willing to go - but has accomplished it in a tactful and empathic way. Though the story was full of emotion and naturally demanded acting that could bring it to life - I felt that Karyn's portrayal of Amy in some scenes was slightly on the verge of over acting. All in all...I was exceptionally impressed with The Right Way and look forward to more of Mark Penney's work.
