Survivant(s) (2010)
In the mood, but very effective

Warning: Spoilers
This is not a long feature, only 24 minutes, but it's a very interesting film, made by a young french movie maker. I saw his interview, this guy is a movie buff, who loves B action flicks, and uses it in his own stuff. He has many references, for instance in this one, where we think of CUBE, SAW, Zombie movies - and they are many of them - and that's for our pleasure. This topic is in the today's fashion, including politic point of view, as Xavier Gens' FRONTIERES was about presidential elections, and the result is, I repeat a mix up between all these schemes. I also think of LA HORDE. It's typically french. With a very good frenchie ending, not in the American way. It's also a downbeat picture of the network system, reality shows and so on, all this crap...

Perhaps the characters should have been more described. But I know the film runs only 24 minutes.

Catch it, it's worthwhile. This young director deserves to succeed in his career.
