Johan Jacobsen made a number of well executed comedies in the Forties and this is one of the best starring a lively Marguerite Viby who wants to teach her unfaithful husband, the handsome architect Gunnar Lauring a lesson for his constant flings. She succeeds very well shifting from the provoking sex symbol to the shrewd mature master of conflicts. However, she is about to fall into her own trap, when she falls in love with an attractive pianist. Johan Jacobsen was the Danish Lubitch, and Marguerite Viby is of course better off with the suave Gunnar Lauring, almost being a local Cary Grant. Ebbe Rode has some fine moments as Lauring's dull doctor, which just goes to show that he can play any role, proved by the diversity of excellent parts he played in films from that period. This film precedes Johan Jacobsen's later masterpiece in this genre from 1950, 'Min kone er uskyldig'.
