Aloko Udapadi (2017)
10/10
Best Sri Lanka Movie to date.

Warning: Spoilers
This movie is few light-years infront of the other Sri Lankan movies to date. The story is a well known historical story in the time of King Valagambha with some additions from script writers. As far as the story goes there is nothing spectacular since it is the history. However the way it was unfolded to the screen was refreshing. The most impressive thing about the movies was the battle sequences which were quite well choreographed for a change. The producer and director were confident to use enough extras in the fights so the fights looked a lot better than other movies. Camera work also had refreshing touch in it. The script was not that good but talented actors and actresses were hired for even some of the small characters which in turn managed to make the weak script work. The Score was done by a new composer and if he keeps working the same way he did in this one he would become real famous real quick. There were some real cool effects compared to any other Sinhala movie I have watched. Sets were way more realistic ( I believe they used Ranminithanna Cinema village) and believable than most Sinhala movies. I really hope that Chathra Weeraman, the director, will keep making more movies and keep improving.

All in all 10/10 and I would encourage any one to go and watch this movie.
