Review of Arsena

Arsena (1937)
the great man
29 June 2017
for a viewer from East, it seems more than familiar. first - for the classic portrait of the hero. than - for the political message. it is a film of legitimization for the Soviet power, using the image of a legendary outlaw hero of Georgia. nothing original. but, after this premise, you discover the charm of a story who could be from Balkans or from Russia, Ukraine, Romania or Serbia, Bulgaria or Hungary. the brave man who impose social justice. the love story. the Manichean manner to present the clash. the moral victory. and it remains seductive. for the great show. for the dose of nostalgia. for its status of historical slice from the cinema evolution. and, for nice performances/fight scenes.
