What an impressive mini-series. The acting performances are very good to excellent. The central character Anat, the police officer in charge of investigating a murder, slowly grows on you. Hani Furstenberg plays the understated role to perfection. This is a series about murder, political intrigue and corruption, the treatment of refugees, blackmail, bribery and so much more. Towards the end of this wonderful series, although some of the characters receive their 'come-uppence', the reality of the outcome of good cop versus the state ( the Israeli government and secret service organisation Mossad) looms large. No happy ending here just as I imagine such scenarios in other 'civilised, democratic' countries pan out. The final scene has Second Series written all over it but that is yet to be confirmed. This is indeed another outstanding tv series which has obviously crept under the radar of popular acclaim as judged by my review being the very first here. Watch it and you'll be well rewarded.
