STOP THE MUSIC!
24 July 2020
I would give this a higher rating, but for the music. Music in film often enhances, enriches, sets the mood. The music in this film does NONE of that! Throughout most of the film is instrumental piano music. It is AWFUL! It is FAR TOO LOUD and is so distracting, it detracts from the film enormously! I did not want to mute the film entirely and read the subtitles, because one wants to hear the narrative in the participants own words. The only exception, of course, are the songs sung by Suzanne Shea Reed, which were wonderful. Director, music editor, ANYONE - did you listen to this? Such a shame, because these are life experiences worth sharing and hearing, told by courageous people who have overcome great pain. They deserve a better presentation.
