24 May 2021
Film based on the homonymous Cuple (song) with lyrics composed by Castellvi and Oliveiros and music composed by Jose Padilla . The retired Matador named Rafael Lucena : Tomás Blanco dies of a stroke watching TV , while bullfighting his son Luis Lucena : Miguel Mateo Miguelin at the Plaza. As he discovered as a viewer to Virginia : Carmen Sevilla who looks exactly like Soledad : Carmen Sevilla , the old love of his father Manuel Lucena : also played by Miguelin . Then , two brothers : Arturo Fernández and Miguel Mateo Fernández -Miguelin- fall in love for Virginia : Carmen Sevilla who performs double role as Soledad and Virginia .

Acceptable and interesting movie with emotion , drama , a triangular romance , several songs by Manuel Parada along with musical numbers , colorful cinematography by Jose F Aguayo and spectacular images from bullfighting . Main and support actors give funcional interpretations , as Arturo Fernández, Carmen Sevilla and an authentic toreador or bullfighter : Miguel Mateo Miguelin. Although the beautiful Carmen Sevilla -in her top splendor- overacting and gesturing excessively . They are well accompanied by a familiar support cast , full of notorious Spanish secondaries , such as : Manolo Gómez Bur, Tomás Blanco , Rafael Hernández, Amparo Marti , Rafael Alonso , Francisco Piquer and Jesús Guzman who goes on performing . From the late 50s to 60s Rafael Gil made five decent films about Bullfighting : Litri y Su Sombra 1959 , Chantaje a Un Torero 1963 , Currito De La Cruz 1965 , Sangre en Ruedo 1968 and this one . All of them made in professionality enough , and achieved successes at the Spanish boxoffice . This last rendition El Relicario 1970 was regular but professionally directed by the craftsman Rafael Gil , including various flasbacks .

There are other versions whose starting point is the homonymous song composed by maestro Padilla popularized by actress/singer Raquel Meyer , these are the following ones : silent film 1927 The Reliquary by Miguel Contreras Torres with Juan Belmonte, Rafael Arcos and The Reliquary 1933 by Ricardo Baños with Rafael Arcos , Nieves Aliaga , Terese Idel.
