Review of Infância

Not among the most inspired films by Domingos de Oliveira, in my opinion. A portrait of a rich and traditional conservative family in Rio de Janeiro, this movie has very good art direction and some nice moments (particularly the discussions on Carlos Lacerda and Samuel Wainer, with the former anticipating fake news as used in recent politics; the ideia that appartments in Andaraí neighborhood were a better investment than lands in "far-away" Leblon is also a funny gag for denizens of Rio de Janeiro nowadays). However, there are problems of pace, and even the smart dialogs usually written by Domingos de Oliveira were more rarefied in this movie.
