The blandness of Akkara Kazhchakal (Foreign Sights) is what works like magic in this 50-episode sitcom of a Malayali family living in New Jersey but refusing to let go of their Kerala roots. Frontman George is the source of most comedy, as he traverses his way around his family life and professional life, the latter of which amounts to nothing. This is why he experiments with different businesses including insurance and a health pickle and ends up making a fool of himself. This is classic television that brings joy and nostalgia to many, especially those who have lived abroad, away from their family. This is no Asianet/Surya TV/Flowers show, this is comedy gold. Watch it.
