This is not a great Lupin III movie. Goemon has a sidequest that feels completely disconnected and lasts far too long. I thought this might be a crossover with a different anime show. The character designs and animation all feel cheap. It was like they thought, what would be the easiest way to animate this, as opposed to what would be the best way.
Fujiko is doing next to nothing the whole movie. And in general, not a lot happens. The action is underwhelming and in total there were only 3 action set pieces. Heck, they have one action scene where all the villains are on segways.
The Maguffin they're after makes no sense. How would Marco Polo have written blueprints for a giant space laser?
Zenigata is on point and there are a few good jokes in the film.
But in general, this film is as lost as someone playing Marco Polo alone in a pool.
