Good Middle School Drama. Before Amazon Kids went animated they developed this one season series that has a lot to recommend itself. It was nice to see stories around sport that weren't all jocks and cheerleaders. The family wasn't disfunctional. And, the drama springs from ordinary school issues. Imagine - kids making good decisions and character building choices. Some really nice young talent. I give this series a 7 (good) out of 10. {Kid-centric Drama}

The entire cast including the lead, Sixx Orange shined brightly throughout each episode even with the poorly written script, camerawork and editing. The acting skills of these kids were not fully taken advantage of and it sadden's me to realize how hard their careers must've been hit due to others at fault.

I came across this show a fortnight ago on Amazon Prime and it was so good that I finished it in 2 days. However, I was surprised that Amazon hasn't yet renewed it for a second season. I got so hooked that I will read the original book by Alex Morgan on which the show is based as Amazon seems to have gone in a slumber. Devin, the main protagonist is so inspiring who despite her initial struggles manages to establish a deep friendship with her teammates and manages to transform a shambolic team into a team that plays together and wins together. She is determined, hardworking, loyal and yet not perfect which is so realistic. I must add that it is so good to see the way these girls have been portrayed. Strong, athletic, independent and caring and not the usual teen drama that is usually portrayed. The interaction of the team amongst themselves and with coach Rivas is so fun to watch. Also, the football plays were so nicely shot and executed especially that boys VS girls match. The bond between the siblings, Devin and her little bro is so endearing as they are poles apart in personality, yet care for each other. The other characters like Zoe, Emma, Mirabelle are also very well developed.
I must say I loved the show so much that the fact they call it soccer instead of football didn't bother me in the least bit. So Amazon, be good and please renew it for a second season!!!

My two kids love "The Kicks!" My 10 year old daughter relates to Devin, as she also struggles with preteen friendship dynamics and fitting in on a team. And the fact that the family shares the struggle together, and depicts parents and preteens supporting each other is pretty cool. The soccer element is very fun, as we're athletic over here. Also, Alex Morgan is an awesome role model! Kudos to Amazon for depicting strong, athletic, and not overly feminine girls on TV, what a nice change! I like that the brother is also very different than his sister, "not a ball throwing person." And yet they get along and embrace their differences without making fun of each other. Coach Flores is realistic as the over- burdened teacher trying to help out. I also liked the moment when Mirabelle drops her anger and puts on the mask of "cool"
which will help my kids understand that sometimes the mean girls are really just wearing a mask to protect themselves. I can't wait to see more. Also love the Mom and Dad, so normal
.idealistic but also kinda cool and trying to help, without sarcasm.

I like the way the visuals are shot and also the knockledge they use of football but there was many things missing. Apart the negative , I liked it in a football player perspective and not as a viewer perspective ... I give it 5/10.

This is a great show. I have a couple of tweens I watch that love this show. They keep asking when the next season comes out. I looks like the last season ended in 2016 and it is now 2019. It would be great if they continued this series.

Oh yes... finally a win/win show for parents and kids. A family with real life struggles... both the parents and the kids learning to navigate change and relationships... but without the crummy way many shows display the adults as idiots. Love the family dynamics... siblings who are polar opposites and respond differently to their world but seem to be close despite that. My daughter connects with the main character and trying to fit in... finding her place and her role. My son is the one behind a computer screen, like lots of boys are and has his online friends like the younger brother. Looking forward to seeing how this show continues to develop the likable characters - from the family to the over-worked teaching staff. So real! So wonderful!
Acting and storyline not the best. Too bad the family shows can't have the same quality as the many MA shows.

Kicks is the best television series I have seen that is both age appropriate and engaging for impressionable girls. With two girls – seven and 11 - this show appealed to both of them for both similar and different reasons. The soccer team dynamics and story kept both girls engaged – plus there was a preteen life-lesson in each episode - that was not too mature for a 7 year old. - The story line was credible and the characters were both relatable and believable. The show was realistic but did not take itself or the content too seriously - keeping the tone light but believable. Really hope the word gets out so the audience numbers will increase in order for Amazon to continue additional seasons. We just stumbled upon Kicks while browsing Prime - as my daughter had read the books so wanted to check it out. -I watched the first show to be sure appropriate for both ages and ended up watching all of the episodes together with my girls. Well-done Amazon!!!
My wife, daughter and I were very disappointed that this show did not, or has not yet been extended for a full season. Great acting, concept and I know it will be a hit with the millions of soccer families in America.My daughter recently began o!saying soccer, which is what made us try out this show. The main character, Devin, is a strong young female lead with great character. when we finished episode one, we were very disappointed that there were no additional episodes. Please continue this show, it is sure to be a success. I mean,it has an 8.6 rating! We have been very impressed with Amazon's original kids shows thus far and would be extremely disappointed if this is all you have planned for The Kicks.

The Kicks is a perfect TV show for athletic teenagers as they can relate to it. In my opinion The Kicks is one of my favourite TV shows as I enjoy sports related shows/movies and this one hit my standards. Even though it is quite cliché, it has a great story line and is enjoyable to watch.
I recommend this to young teens.
I literally can not wait for the next season to come out. I hope the show stays fun and entertaining. Also the show is very encouraging for young girls to play sports or join a sports team. Great show, totally recommend it!

My daughter loves this show! She loves soccer and basketball and is dying to know what happens next. It is a great show that the whole family enjoys, which I love because it isn't annoying! My daughter loves the story lines and the characters. We were a little late in finding this show, but I hope it gets renewed it is actually a show she can watch with her 4 year old brother and they both enjoy it!!

Considering "the kicks" was made around 2016, it has still never disappointed me every time I watch it. Currently, it is 2024. I would've hoped for 2nd Season. The starring actor, Sixx Orange, has made this series the best. A lot of drama and friendships come a long way in this series. I would really hope to see the girls get back together to finish what they have started. Watching this has made me hope that they all have accomplished many things throughout the years and hope they're still in touch, since they look so close in "the kicks". They NEED to have some type of a little reunion. This series makes me smile and I cannot stop hoping and need it to be happening!! Love "the kicks"!
