The Documentary took over 6 years to make. The on-set footage was shot in July 2008. The first set of interviews were shot in 2009. Director Mathew J. Wilkinson found it too painful to relive the events and placed the hard drive away in a cupboard, only to rediscover it in 2014. The last set of interviews were recorded in November 2014.
