The original script treatment had a husband and wife as the main characters for the story, but after writer/director Mike Henderson met and talked with actress Parisa Pakzad on the set of another film, he changed the story and dropped the character of the husband and added the character of FBI Special Agent Karla Collins.
The original title of the film was based on an attempt to tie the title to a line of dialog in the film, similar to the way the films in the James Bond franchise include the title either as a plot point or a line spoken by a character. After reviewing the IMDB database, it was discovered that the original title "Faith" had 7 other films with the same name. The production team researched other alternatives and found the name "Shir-zan" (meaning Lioness) relating to women warriors of ancient Persia. Brave women are referred to as "Shir-zan" to this very day.
The first film in a proposed trilogy, and the first film in ArtWerks Entertainment Phase One slate of films. The second film will be part of Phase Two, and the third and last installment will be in Phase Three, respectively. Out of the more than 30 planned films, this series is the first and only trilogy.
