A well directed with excellent quality production to come out of Egypt. After conducting some research, I learnt that it was ICFLIX's second production, the first being HIV (the first Arabic film to portray the story of HIV).
Taken a step away from the usual slapstick cheesy comedies you usually see coming out of Egypt, Al Makida is an excellent murder, mystery, thriller that is shrouded by lots of suspense and keeps you guessing as who committed the actual murder and why.
Excellent acting from Moustafa Mansour who was previously seen in HIV. Definitely look forward to seeing more of this actor in the near future.

This film goes straight into the heart of things, the tracks are scrambled at the start of the movie and each character seems to have a valid reason to commit the crime, so every one is the potential murderer. We do not feel the time going by, as we play the game to guess the identity of the murderer, who is emerging little by little after you follow the clues left behind, but without being certain of his identity at any point. And there is also the story inside the story, which adds more drama to the movie... It would not have been a good movie without good acting, the young actors surprised me with their skills, hats off to them and I am sure that we will see them in future productions.
