The Gaelic Curse

Rather light-hearted and charming, but . . .

The forms taken by the curse were so contrived and over-the-top that they undermined the charm for me. IMO, this movie would've been greatly improved if the scriptwriters had come up with more subtle ways for the curse to manifest.

Amateur Effort

This film suffers from poor writing, poor directing, and weak acting. Production values were quite low. Much of the story did not make sense, and the shots were poorly set up. Not recommended.

Best Irish movie !!!

This is my favorite Irish movie overall because the content is truly authentic. I grew up in Ireland and can identify with the storyline. We honestly didn't know how to handle special needs people. These people were different and we simply didn't know how to relate. I love how the storyline played out. This movie Gaelic Curse covered a very big subject matter in a thoughtful and delicate way. There was humor associated with it which made me laugh, there was sadness which made me cry, but the beautiful music lifted my spirits, I highly recommend watching it.

Great movie for the entire family

My 9 year old daughter and I enjoy this movie, it was refreshing to watch a family movie that was appropriate for younger children to enjoy as well, great humor, and a pretty good message regarding humanity.

Charming and light hearted movie

This movie was very well made with a little dark humor but also a feel-good, lighthearted watch. Funny and enjoyable to watch with the family. It had a really good cast and acting. Great chemistry with the actors. It was well produced.

Very likeable and quite entertaining

This film was a joy. The interaction between characters was a delight. I enjoyed the comedic levity of the film and while some aspects of the plot may journey into the fantastical, I still found qualities of the cast relatable and endearing. A big music and dance scene in the town's pub was a highlight. It felt authentic and as the players on screen were having a good time so did I as a viewer. Writer Brian Walsh impresses with a comedic and sympathetic performance as Limp; and praise to Director Jack Conroy for carving out an entertaining, imaginative and fun movie.

I enjoyed this movie. I think it's great!

I thought it was very entertaining and I really liked the performance of Brian Walsh. It's no wonder why it won so many awards.

A magical tale of a lump and a limp... very entertaining

There haven't been such strange goings-on in an Irish village since Waking Ned Devine. Not sure if it was the fun, the scenery, the music, or the devil himself but this film was sweet: definitely two lumps of sugar for me.

Well done comedy.

Good story, easy to follow and fun to wiatch. Yes, it was low budget but that doesn't take away from the the time and effort to bring the audience a very watchable flick. Well worth watching.

Classic Old School Irish Comedy

Thoroughly enjoyed this film. Lots of funny unusual characters in a small town in Ireland. Good energy form all the actors and it is obvious that they were all having fun with the roles they were given. Great credit goes to the production team for the choices they made in terms of location and music.

Romping good fun and darkly, devilishly humorous at the same time. Be prepared to laugh--and dance.

Zany and rollicking good fun, darkly humorous and lighthearted at the same time, suffused with a human warmth that makes you laugh with and feel for the characters, even the bad guys, with a wonderful musical interlude that will make you want to jump up and jig or river dance.
