I had low expectations going in to watch this movie. Specially after reading the reviews here. However, I found that this movie was intriguing and worth paying attention to. And it was definitely was able to grab and hold my attention throughout. Good psychological mystery movie. Don't expect too much and it won't disappoint you. Your past will haunt you, weather it's your or someone else's doing.

Before I begin examining, 'My Birthday Song' had the elements of ending up far beyond what it is. It is an actually solid film with a possibly capable story. Samir Soni, who can't escape glitches all over, concocted a nice first endeavor. At a certain point, the tension gets thick, and we begin thinking about whether the characters we are seeing are at all there, or are dreamlike. In any case, surrealism is the place it turns out badly also.
Since the film significantly banks upon its occasions and not the quantity of characters, it is for the most part carried on Sanjay Suri.
Excepting that, 'My Birthday Song' has its snapshots of true to life aptitude. Sanjay Suri is an enjoyment to watch and Nora Fatehi is OK in her shoes. Australian lovely lady Zenia Starr ventures into Bollywood with this one, and will likely remain here. I also like how the director's approach is to move the watchers with nuance. Also, I concede, it carries end with a climax I had never at any point envisioned.

Samir Soni has directed it amazingly. I specially appreciate the hard work of Nora Fatehi, her role was really complicated and complex and she has done that very beautifully.

It was an intriguing story that keeps one hooked till the end, however i had a feeling that it was not skillfully told. Frankly there wasn't any chemistry between the two characters that could make one believe that they would fall for each other. The acting from Sanjay and Nora was good.
It's best to watch this movie without watching any trailer.
The ending while it had a big twist, it was a messy. The movie fails to leave an impact at the end.

This movie was going good right from the start..keeps you occupied and exhilarated throughout. The components in this movie give uncanny resemblance to "Nocturnal Animals" (2016) and "Mulholland Drive" (2001). I was all praising Bollywood for bringing such movie after a long time since John Abraham's "No Smoking" (2007) and Akshay's "8X10 Tasveer" (2009) until the meritless poorly scripted ending which abruptly made me realise I was watching a Bollywood movie after all.

As a first time director, Samir Soni chooses quite a difficult subject, but does show some promise as I like the concept but screenplay is lukewarm which makes the things uninteresting. The movie manages to generate tension and suspense but they don't pay off at the end. Now as far as the plot goes, it's very muddled and lacks depth. It tries to be smart but end up being the opposite - dull. The movie expects the viewer to keep up with the multiple timelines running through the film without any good narrative structure. Sanjay Suri does a good job in the lead role. The rest of the secondary cast are okay. The Cinematography is very good and so is the score, as it intensifies the scenes.
Why do the movie has got 90 percent dialogues in english and mentioned as hindi language movie.

I believe if a movie is able to make you sit for it whole duration then its a good movie. May be you don't agree with its ending but still it was able to make you see every second of it and My Birthday song will just do that . The director is commendable for his effort and execution of the movie. Sanjey Suri is good and so is Nora Fatehi and she just look beautiful. I recommend it to watch it once and you will not regret your decision. Samir should be proud of his effort.
Just watched. I won't say anything about the story. In fact I would say, don't even bother to watch the trailer. Just go blind. It is 8 or 9 ratings movie. But its low budget movie and without any big names in it. This effort deserves an appreciation.

Keeps you on the edge constantly. Very very taut thriller. People who have given it a low rating should go and watch Selmun boi movies cuz that's all they can understand. This is a real good movie just requires you to have a working brain and if you understand it you get a story you will possibly never forget.
