If you don't know, I HATE Peppa Pig. The awful writing, ugly animation, terrible characters and ear-grating voice acting makes me LOATHE this show. And guess what, a 15-minute episode of the show was released in theaters! And it sucked, a LOT.
Peppa Pig: The Golden Boots is about everyone's favorite bratty piggy Peppa Pig, as she unwisely leaves her boots outside her house, and Mrs. Duck (who looks nothing like she usually does in the show) steals the boots. Peppa gets upset, and forces everyone to travel over land, sea, and air just to find her "golden" boots.
The first problem with this special is the writing. So many things make no sense at all! First, how can a duck fly all the way to the moon? The duck will die before reaching space because of the lack of oxygen. Second, those are just boots! Peppa could've got new, identical boots instead of forcing everyone to look for them. Third, the debate against Peppa and Suzy over if the boots are really golden gets very annoying after a while, because they are repeating the exact same things and Peppa and Suzy are extremely unpleasant to listen to during their little argument.
The second problem is the characters. Peppa is the ugly, stupid little brat she has always been, forcing everyone to look for her boots. Peppa, along with her awful voice, makes her time on screen hard to watch. Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig have the same personalities as they have in the show. Mummy Pig is a know-it-all Mama Bear-type character who always knows what is right and wrong and rarely does anything wrong. Daddy Pig is a stupid, clumsy, relaxed, Papa Bear-type character who's only purpose is to add to Mummy Pig's explanations and being fat-shamed. Peppa's friends are just there to add to the show's grocery list of characters, while also being uninteresting, and everyone else is only in the special for like 5 minutes and just disappears.
The third problem is the music. In this special, there are two original songs. One is a song about muddy puddles in the tune of "Old MacDonald Had a Farm", which sounds terrible due to Peppa's voice and the extremely simple instrumentation, and another one about finding Peppa's boots which gets repetitive after a long time.
The fourth and final problem is the voice acting. The voice acting is just terrible. Peppa sounds even worse than nails on a chalkboard, especially when she SINGS. Peppa's friends sound very similar to each other, so it's hard to determine which is which when just listening to the special's audio. The adults sound okay I guess, but Mr. Potato can sound a little had to understand due to his thick accent.
Overall, Peppa Pig: The Golden Boots is a terrible special. With its poor writing, awful characters, terrible songs and bad voice acting makes this special a big time-waster. Do not watch this special, AT ALL. Don't show it to you kids or friends. It is that bad.
SCORE: 1/10
