I would rate this series ok. Not extremely good but not bad as most of the review either. People probably think it wasn't going to be possible but as you can see if in the real pandemic situation, nothing is impossible.
There are a few plot that can script better but again, it's not as bad as most of the review indicate. Indeed some of the screen were unnecessary and it does get a little boring here and there.

I've seen some bad reviews here, but I don't understand why. I suppose it's just a matter of individual taste. I've seen two episodes so far and I'm really in to it. The story and writing are very good and the acting also good. We get to see the infection from patient zero, which is nice. So far, we don't know how the infection first originated, although we are told where it came from.
The characters are interesting. They're good people put in a horrible, terrifying situation. I like seeing how the different people handle what's going on. Things are slowly getting worse for them all. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next. It's a tense, but very human story. I like many of the characters.
As I said, I don't understand why some people don't like it. All I know, is I'll be watching more episodes.

My review on "Containment" the pilot was amazing and I see no reason why reviews are so bad on IMDb
I found it refreshing, not especially original, but the pilot kept my attention the whole time.
The premise of the show is what would happen if a biological attack happened in the states or anywhere else in the world, and what would happen next.
Would the infrastructure be there to contain this, and how would this affect the population and what would the detrimental effect be on the immediate population be.

Firstly, I do love virus movies and shows like Outbreak and Last Ship but this one really has a soul, you can't help but feel along with the characters. The human element is not lost like what happens in so many Zombie shows and movies. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love The Walking Dead but this show is just as good but in a different way.
To let you know where I'm at, I have just finished watching the 5th episode. The show is building at a perfect pace and the character development is wonderful. If this was to really happen in a city in the U.S., this is how it would probably be handled, it has a very real feel to it. Some characters started off cowardly and scared and have developed into brave and helpful people while others have gone the other way. Some, like the lead police character have pretty much been the same person from the beginning. Lex is a genuine good cop who just happens to have the love of his life inside the danger zone or what the show calls the "Cordon". This is not a spoiler, you find out very quickly in the first episode how they get separated on either sides of the cordon. This is very painful to him but he does not let it interfere with his duty to the people of Atlanta.
Don't buy into those silly reviews that are always race, creed or religion biased, those people will never be happy. This is not about the Syrians being evil or the black people being gang bangers or the white people being the goodies, there are all types of people inside the cordon and they are reacting very much like they would if this was real life, most are good, some are bad, enjoy the show.

They have Protocols ALL wrong in this. I was NBC (Nuclear Biological Chemical) in the military. First off local police would only be there to direct local traffic in a situation where an unknown biological threat is found. The CDC Homeland Security and even FBI would be there. EVERYBODY would in a military Hazmat suit so that anybody entering the situation is safe. The hospital would have to be a Level one Hospital equip with an Infectious Disease ward where anybody exposed to "patient zero" would be put into. The walls ceilings and floors in Quarantine are all white tile. There are ZERO windows in Quarantine. Nobody is allowed in and everybody who is authorized to be in the ward MUST wear a Hazmat suit at ALL times to prevent risk of exposure. Nothing is allowed in QUARANTINE. NO cell phones, or electronic device. There isn't any TV in the room. All you can do to relieve boredom and maintain any shred of sanity is to count all 2000+ tiles in the room.
I won't go into great detail about the entire list of proper protocol in such a situation. I am watching this miniseries with my hubby who wasn't NBC but Intelligence in the military and we were picking it apart on what they did wrong.
I like the show just that the writers didn't do enough research on protocols when such a situation arrives.

So, there's a lot of negativity on here about this show, which is what led me to create and IMDb account and create this review.
My advice? Ignore that negativity, unless, of course, you're a scientist learning how to fight an outbreak by watching a TV show, or if you're a cop... trying to learn how to fight an outbreak by watching a TV show.
This show is entertaining, with some good performances by various actors/actresses, and is compelling in more than one respect. Is it spot-on science, logical policing, and top- notch writing? No. But it never attempts to be, and my opinion is that most of the negative reviews of this show are the result of unrealistic and ill-founded expectations.
To put it plainly: I watched this because I LOVED 'Outbreak,' with Dustin Hoffman, Morgan Freeman, Rene Russo, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Kevin Spacey, and Donald Sutherland (amongst others). If you haven't seen it, go watch it. And, before or after you do so, watch this, too. Enjoy it for what it is, and I assure you that you'll be entertained; scrutinize every little detail and section of dialogue, then it surely won't satisfy some need for utter and unadulterated non-fiction.
Something tells me the people that didn't like this show are the same sorts of people that criticized Star Wars for having unrealistic explosions in space. Although I'm obviously not comparing this to Star Wars, some people really just need to get over themselves and learn how to enjoy a good story, regardless of whether it would actually happen this way in the real world.

OK i am here to say to everyone who know " Containment " to RUN see " THE CORDON " Original series who was the model of this remake.
1) The story Almost the same, but the action and the drama are a lot better in the original series. The first 2 episodes of the remake are very good but after that, the story become very flat and do not "horrify and shock you" same as the original story.
2) Acting inside the remake, each act is too clean, i don't have seen where they are in pain, it's too superficial and fast and very flat. It is as if the cast are inside a big supermarket and just try to reach the last bottle of cola on the last shelves. It's not realistic. Cast of the original TV show are not of course worldwide icons, Inside the original TV Show you can see pain and real emotions on faces each times the show need it! It's very a big difference, because it's realistic!
3) The Ending The remake don't gives you anything, no horror, no solution, nothing, flat like sea without any wind and boats. The original gives you Horror, all answers, and so many things. THIS IS NOT, THE SAME ENDINGS, FOR A LOT OF CHARACTERS, ON THIS TV SHOW. The original TV Show, gives you more.
I am not from the country of the original TV show and it was strange to see a TV show who was not in English, but after 3 episodes i eat them in one row! Because the original story was really hard and was more interesting in many cases.
Now, you know. I invite you, to watch the original TV show to make your own judgment.
Have Fun :)

"Containment" starts with a flash forward that portends a terrible future, just to add some gravitas to the early episodes. The drama starts in Atlanta, where an illegal Syrian immigrant presents symptoms that we have seen in other similar shows. When the final diagnosis comes in, the culprit is an unknown hemorrhagic avian flu that might have been weaponized.
An outbreak mobilizes the authorities from all levels of government. Soon, lines are drawn--around the area at risk, between family members who are separated, between the authorities and those who seek the truth.
There are no surprises in the first four episodes. People are stressed to their limits. Violence erupts. There are always those who defy the police for personal reasons, ignoring concerns beyond their own.
The acting is good. Some aspects of the story strain credulity, however, so I am reducing my vote accordingly. Because "Containment" has plenty of dramatic tension that anyone can identify with, many viewers will find the show engaging.

Stumbled upon Containment browsing Netflix for something to do on a rainy Saturday night, and never expected something so captivating and moving such as Containment. The plot was believable, acting was great, and writing and production was excellent. I was choked up a few times throughout the series, and what made it more compelling was how I arrived at the show feeling prepared to be amused for a short time, perhaps an episode or two, and move on like the rest.
It didn't turn out that way; I was glued to the television, which I rarely am, and I pretty much watched the entirety within a few days. There were highs and lows, sadness and happiness, but throughout was excitement. I was saddened to hear the series would not be renewed, as this story could definitely go on, perhaps with the virus spreading outside the cordon. There are a few loose ends to be tied up as well, and they definitely left it open to be continued. Haven't really heard of CW since now, whom I highly recommend giving this series a second look.
Enjoy!

Great show, and great direction I have seen a lot of shows over my life. Some bad, some good. This one I'd give about 8. The show is very well done with the storyline of the virus outbreak and containing everyone, and it really gets you thinking of how people would really react in a situation like that. Badly. Loved ones separated during the quarantine, ones being isolated in rooms and going crazy, I don't want to spoil anything but the way the virus outbreak affects people in this series is the way it'd affect people in real life. Only con is that they are introducing too many characters to follow at the beginning, instead of focusing on one or two so they can begin to grow on us. Instead of 8 per 5 minutes, give us 3 per 5 minutes, but that's not too big of an issue. Love the show. Ironically enough, I'm watching this show while I have a cold bug, and am on bed rest, so this is pretty relatable at the moment haha. Will continue to watch!

I don't know where all the hate is coming from with this show! It isn't racist in the slightest. I wasn't sure when I watched previews whether or not I would like it because it looked like it might turn out to be one of those "protagonists rebel against evil secret-keeping government" shows, but I was pleasantly surprised. They do a fantastic job balancing showing the emotions of the characters and having character development with the furthering of the plot. They manage to show the struggle behind every decision made, inside and out of the Cordon, and it helps that the actors and actresses do a pretty good job in their roles. I know a lot of shows that try to shove the conflict in your face trying to convince you "this is the suspenseful part! You should be scared now!" But containment doesn't do that, and manages to build tension in a way that sneaks up on you. I am always looking forward to next week's episode. You should definitely try it out-you might be pleasantly surprised too

With all that's going on right now during the pandemic this tv series is a must see.
I thoroughly enjoyed every moment, my heart skipped a beat a few times as this could well happen to us. It shows how people get when they are in fear of the unknown. Humans can become like animals, whilst others genuinely help those in need. As they say it's survival of the fittest, In a dog eat dog world.
Let's hope this never happens here.
Please make a season 2 this show is far too good to stop now.

I am not an epidemiologist. But my job required me to go through the CDC's Ebola isolation preparation training this week in preparation for any emergencies with Zika virus. I'd had it before but when I watched this show the training happened to be very fresh in my mind. I couldn't help compare it with the ridiculously ill prepared and amateurish the doctors seemed in Containment as they struggled.
It wasn't just the medical staff that struggled. Any easy excuse for drama was used, right down to cops throwing temper tantrums. We have overused dramatic stereotype after stereotype when simple logic would have worked completely differently. Oh, we have thousands of people contained within a few city blocks. There would be dozens of escape attempts. They showed one - ridiculously simple. That one escape attempt would have been stopped instantly if the Governor would have done the first logical thing which would be to call in the National Guard and position them all around the perimeter with rifles and to have sharp shooters behind them covering every inch of the line. Why didn't they? I think so they could have another cop temper tantrum.
Drama, drama, drama everywhere. Am I in the mood for more of their drama? I don't know. Maybe. Depends on my mood. I up voted it one point for being Sci Fi themed, rounding it up to a seven out of ten.

The very first episode hooked me. Eagerly looking forward for the next one, I was kinda desperate to know what will happen next and that made me give 8/10, casting is great, act is fine and the graphics are amazing the intensity hits on the right spot. though it's a very common idea zombie thing and a old one too but classic. Containment puts this classic idea in a unique way. I said zombies but it's little non zombie I believe, I'm sure you will love watching it. i was not bored it's not slow, but i'm afraid that it will become slowish in upcoming episodes. I hope that I don't have to change my opinion. they nailed it in the first one but I'm unsure about what's coming. Peace out LC
So I think this a time where I am rather baffled by reviews on IMDB. Glowing over-the-top fantastic ones vs let's burn the film then stir the ashes with a stick so it doesn't reanimate. I liked it. I'm a ridiculous mutitasker and will do online whatever with my phone while watching (read: listening to) shows. I put down the phone with this show. An English speaking show. The whole time. Granted, ever since I read The Stand by King at 11 yrs old, I've been fascinated with viral, end of the world sagas (with or without zombies) so the premise is one of my favorite genres in horror/thriller. Here's what you need to know. Yes, they take some damned liberties with the medical aspect. But, c'mon people, would you seriously watch a show where you have nothing but scientists testing unknown viral agents at the CDC? Y'know, a process that could take months or years with average looking doctors in lab coats?? What transpires after a 100% mortality rate virus reeks havoc thru a small portion of a city can happen. Quarantine can and has happened. Do they take dramatic license? Of course. It's FICTION. The acting? I did not see what some of the 1 star reviewers saw. The acting is fine, occasionally quite good. And, dear god, being a horror junkie, I've watched some seriously cringeworthy movies with the most stilted of scripts. That is not this series. It warrants a viewing. At least at the pilot. Not for you, move along. I will say there's no way this is less than 6 stars.
