While introducing Alex Kane's character, references are made to his past work, including comments about a few years of fighting terrorists around the globe for an elite military unit. This is a direct reference to one of the actor's (Phillip Winchester) previous roles in the Strike Back television series.
Cassandra King provides valuable intel about forthcoming situations. In Greek mythology, Cassandra is also the name of a woman who could see the future. However, in the myth, she was cursed by god Apollo, so that no one would ever believe her prophecies again and therefore she could never prevent the tragedies she'd see.
Phillip Winchester previously starred in the Cinemax series Strike Back (2010) alongside Sullivan Stapleton, who stars in the series Blindspot (2015), which is also currently airing on the NBC network.
In S1E3, Alex and Cassandra travel to Los Angeles for a case involving a sniper. The scene is set for their arrival, with a momentary passing shot of a star in the sidewalk of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The star we see is for veteran writer/director Carl Reiner.
Nick Wechsler (Nick) has previously worked with KaDee Strickland's (Special Agent Rose Nolan) husband, Jason Behr in the TV show 'Roswell'. They played Kyle Valenti and Max Evans respectively.
