Leela is a film dealing with reincarnation and the past and present story of two characters along with a priceless statue. At first lets talk about the story. The story is stereotyped and its presentation is a complete disaster. The story is full of clichés and loopholes. The screenplay is very mundane.Right from the first scene of the movie you loses your interest. It is full of unnecessary and boring scenes which only increases the length of the movie which in return expands the suffering of viewers.Dialogs are too amateurish, absurd, bothersome and sometimes vulgar too.The first half is lousy and uninteresting,2nd half is even worse. The twist in the end is terribly vexatious. The pace of the movie is very slow and tiresome. In the acting department everyone was bad.Sunny Leone as a titular character dances well, looks sizzling but is very weak in acting. Her dialog delivery is terrible.Jay bhanusali kept the same expression on his face during entire movie.Rajneesh duggal has very little screen presence and he is moderate in his role.Rahul bose is good.He is the only cast member of this film who is bearable. The supporting cast was bad and over-active. Cinematography is good.Visuals are average.Music is the only thing about this movie which is satisfactory. The direction is very weak. This is a movie which showcases the body of Lead lady from every possible camera angles.Sometimes i feel so bad to think about Indian cinema and its member.Has they ran out of ideas? Can't they make sensible cinema instead of such pathetic ones? Watch this movie only if you have nothing to do.Otherwise let it go.And remember not to watch with Ur family members and children. 2.8 out of 10 would be too much.
A reputed director active at Facebook once posted a straight forward status about Sunny Leone referring to her as 'The most truthful person ever witnessed by the Hindi film industry". And agreeing to his bold statement (keeping aside the other debates on the issue) I would like to state that, yes she is the most truthful phenomenon ever, since here is a girl who is not interested in hiding her 'controversial' past at all, is not willing to pose or portray herself as any 'purest find' ever and is ready to deliver what is exactly expected from her in the films without feeling any kind of shame or guilt whatsoever.
So when you have Sunny Leone featuring in a movie then you are sure to get the exact content you are looking for in those 2 hours and EK PAHELI LEELA largely delivers the same (in a stylish manner) with not one but two Sunny Leone's playing the contrasting characters of a gorgeous new age model and an innocent village girl of the olden times.
For the few interested in its storyline (pun intended), its about reincarnation of two loving souls and an evil one who are here again to complete their interrupted love saga. The concept of a renowned sculptor of the past killing a beautiful girl (his subject) and her lover, only to find them again in the rebirth was earlier seen in B. Subhash's hit English (adult) movie titled DIVINE LOVERS released in 1997 featuring Marc Zuber, Himent Birje and many foreign artists. Admittedly the present version is not as bold as the B. Subhash film that ran for quite long in the Indian theatres due to its x-rated content, but it still has Sunny Leone showcased in a more glamorous manner than ever before in her Hindi film career till date.
To give you an unbiased idea of the film, EK PAHELI LEELA does have its illogical plot developments, few average performances, a lengthy duration, excessive songs and some cheap double meaning dialogues too thrown in repeatedly to generate an instant laughter. But the film certainly doesn't have the look and feel of any B-C grade movie as was being looked upon before its release. And the complete credit for this 'unexpected excellence' goes to three departments in particular, namely its cinematography, art direction (including location & costumes) and the soundtrack featuring many hit tracks such as "Desi Look", "Saiyaan Superstar", "Tere Bin Nahin", "Glamourous Akhiyaan" and the best of the lot "Khuda Bhi Jab Tumhein Mere Paas Dekhta Hoga".
So when you have such strong merits associated with a film along with Sunny Leone giving her best performance till date both in terms of glamorous-sex appeal as well as improved acting then it doesn't let you rate the film anywhere close to something trash or ignorable, mediocre stuff quite honestly. In fact it was after a long time (going into decades) when I once again witnessed loud shouts, whistles and madness in a single screen theatre on the entry scene of a heroine (after that enigmatic era of Madhuri and Sridevi in the late 80s- early 90s). However no doubt here the whistles were obviously not for the on-screen enigma but for something else known widely.
Directed by debutant Bobby Khan, the film has its glamour factor exploited real well and that's where Bobby scores the best ahead than the script and its emotional aspect dealing with love and reincarnation. Where the first half doesn't let you take your eyes off the screen due to Sunny Leone simply looking stunning in all her scenes and well choreographed dance movements (particularly in track 'Glamorous Akhiyan'), there the second half could have been trimmed a lot with the suspense factor executed in a different and much elaborated manner, avoiding a few un-required songs and dragging sequences. However one truly has to applaud the director as well as his DOP for handling the skin show in the film so elegantly that it never turns out to be even close to something cheap as seen in Leone's earlier movies.
Regarding performances, Sunny Leone clearly leads the project boldly putting forward her best act till date in Hindi films and its really a visual treat to watch her grooving on the well composed tracks shot on some artistically designed sets and striking locations of Rajasthan. Recalling her earlier ventures, in both JISM 2 and RAGINI MMS 2 she was mere used as a sex object who was supposed to start shedding off her clothes with the word 'action', treating the audience too as fools sitting in the theatre. However with EK PAHELI LEELA it seems that she really is taking the acting career in India quite seriously, learning the art step by step and the director here too is not just interested in using her as a sex object alone ignoring everything else in the process. And that's what clearly visible in the hard work Bobby and his team puts in the film's interesting story selection, eye-catching sets, colourful costumes, enjoyable choreography, noticeable lyrics, well composed music and Sunny's better performance too.
In the supporting cast, Jay Bhanushali tries hard to perform well in his ill-defined role, Rajneesh Duggal, Mohit Ahlawat, Andy and Rahul Dev are all just OK making a decent impact, but Jas Arora despite being over the top gets some loud support from the viewers due to his cheeky dialogues rendered in a more vulgar style.
Summing up, EK PAHELI LEELA is a well shot, colorful, seductive, musical show presenting Sunny Leone like never before in a Hindi film. Hence it cannot be rated as anything trash just for the sake of it, as was the case in Sunny's last few projects. The film offers what is expected of it aesthetically without going into any cheap zone and thus deserves to be rated decently due to its visible merits.

The only other film I rated a zero this year was Arjun Rampal starrer Roy and I still haven't recovered from the trauma. With Ek Paheli Leela, I am back in the hospital bed.
Let me not start with the story, because if I do that, I may end up dead in the process. Honestly, I wanted to walk out of the movie hall in less than 30 minutes (that is the time I stipulate for a particular movie to decide whether it is watchable or not). Let me tell you what I could gather in those 30 minutes: two item songs, six flesh flashes, and three highly absurd conversations. I did not want to know where the story was going because the development is so dreary. And the trailer had made no sense.
Then you will ask me what was I expecting? Yes, I was expecting all the above factors that would surround a mystery as the title clearly suggests. While there seems to be a foolish paheli hidden in the plot, I really didn't care to know what that is, because of the limpy introduction. And once you understand the paheli, you pull out your dictionary and search for the definition of paheli (mystery).
If you can pass the obnoxious 30 minutes, you may enjoy the rest of the film. At the end, you will be content to have watched the same cleavage in different, colourful blouses and the humanity will liberate. So while there may be a paheli in the story, for me, the real paheli is the existence of people who are raving about the film.
BOTTOM LINE: Be wise and skip it! 0/10 - fail.
Can be watched with a typical Indian family? NO
Vulgarity: Medium

Bollywood is completely lost and if movies like Ek Paheli Leela don't stop making money, god knows what's going to happen in the future. Sunny Leone is nowhere near a good actress and when movies are churned out to make money from her skin show I just cant handle it. Somehow I sat through the 2 hours plus travesty hoping that the film would lead somewhere. The entire run-time the screenplay meanders nowhere before hitting us with senseless climax. There is precious little story and whatever is told is absolute nonsense about rebirth and building a sculpture of Sunny which had no aim whatsoever. The screenplay is shorter than Sunny's skirt and filled tiresome and forced item numbers. Well, I already knew that this movie was not going to be some classic still it is an insult to film making. Another unbearable film released just about a month after the dud called 'Roy'. Highly avoidable.

Movie is worth watching.. It has many spoilers but still the plot, music, visuals, direction and SUNNY LEONE make it a nice watch.. Music is really too good and carries a perfect absorption in the movie Sunny leone has groomed a lot in her acting skills The movie could have been improved much but still what made is good enough and something we could expect from a debutant director and a new actor Sunny Leone as she never did roles that demanded appropriate acting skills One more thing to be appreciated is that the movie contains minimum sex content by sunny leone by whom she is generally known it has a good combination of drama, comedy and romance so go for it and finally the gorgeous sunny has started her proper acting career go wish her luck!!
When a movie has the name Sunny Leone in the cast list, expectations of the audiences doesn't go far. Ek Paheli Leela made some space in the promos by its entertaining and really good songs, but still on the expectations it didn't had much fate. But Bobby Khan as a director did a really good job and made Leela a Surprisingly Good Movie. Really Entertaining, I must say. Its a good pace movie with its own thrills, which should be credited to the writers. They have written a great, interesting, and a twisting climax. Seeing two faces after a long time was great, Mohit Alahwat and Jas Arora after such a long gap. And thumbs-up to Jas Arora for his performance as Bikram Singh, when you have considered to be as chocolate boy in raster years. Sunny has again done a hard working job to improve herself as an actress, and praise her for that. The most beautiful highlight of the movie is the Cinematography and Choreography of the songs. Hats-off to the person who is behind the camera. Specially frames in the desert are really great. The colors and mood has been captured beautifully through out the movie.
In totality its worth the money. And again kudos to Bobby Khan.

My expectations were high for this movie after seeing it came to an average. But the songs are awesome and storyline is great. The film succeeded in portraying Leela, the character through sunny Leone. Pretty worth watching for the fans.' Mohit Ahlawat the actor also played the role very much. Climax was a turning point but was a sudden shut. I enjoyed watching the film because sunny has taken this great challenge in her life to play Leela, a Rajasthani village girl. There were many dialogs which were superb. The location which include London were she was a model reach India for a shoot were Rajasthan is shown. Then second half goes to the past life of the three main leads: Leela, Shravan and Bhairav.

The ending surprised me, I didn't see it coming. I really liked the dancing and music.
There was one murder that confused me, but lets see if it makes sense to others.
But litterally its a three character film. Let's say a love triangle. Where one is a one-sided love.

Great casting, good acting but a disappointing climax. It is not the regular Indian Mirchi masala commercial film. The plot is good, but falls a little short towards the ending. Nonetheless, marks the beginning of Sunny Leone's journey to Bollywood stardom, a win-win for Bhushan Kumar. Oh and the songs are just superb, Meet Bros do it yet again! Jay Bhanushali did fair to his character, Mohit Ahlawat and Jas Arora were terrific as Rajput princes. The vividness and mood has been beautifully captured. The movie is but a thrilling ride thanks to the writers and Sunny Leone for working so hard to portray the role of Leela in flashbacks. The Rajasthani accent she picked is absolutely spot on. 6/10 for me.
It's such a well made movie, everything right from direction, to music and is visually stunning plus the story line is so good, not a single dull moment, I wish there were more movies like this one, I wonder why it has such a low rating 🙄

I had never thought I would watch Leela, let alone review it. I and my friend had gone to watch Byomekesh Bakshi. However, there happened some confusion regarding the show-timing and we reluctantly agreed to watch Leela instead. But the movie turned out to be good.
I don't like Sunny Leone's porn. In fact, I dislike that genre of porn altogether. I had thought that Leela would be yet another low- budget, B grade movie like Hate Story. However, it turned out that this movie is one of the most elegant depictions of female beauty ever done on the screen.
As the rustic woman, Sunny looks mesmerizing, she looks exquisite, she looks enticing, she looks voluptuous, she looks angelic. And it's the result of an efficient teamwork. From makeup, to costumes to cinematography, all contributed to it. And surprisingly, Sunny not just looked good, she acted pretty well too.
The cinematography stands out. It's the USP of the movie. Not just Sunny but also the desert, the lake, the palace, the village, the ancient structures, as if all become living characters!
The movie has a script and a good one, for that matter. Especially the twist in the end suddenly makes you look at the whole story from another point of view. The audience was gasping and clapping. I heard a couple of thrilled guys still discussing the climax in the parking.
Rahul Dev, Mohit Ahlawat, Jai Bhanushali, Rajneesh Duggal, Jas Arora - none of the male actors comes from the A league but they did a good job. Especially Ahlawat whose character had many shades. He had to look decent and debonair, yet manly without exuding false aggression. He managed it skillfully. His as well as Rahul Dev's diction was quite pleasant
The love-making scene between Sunny and Rajneesh Duggal was beautifully done. Contrary to Sunny's porn that is cheap and in- your-face, it looked erotic, yet classy and romantic.
Music is another good point. Even when a song, "Saiyyan superstar" was clearly stuffed in just for the sake of putting another item- song, it is entertaining.
The bad part is editing. Had editing been better, the movie could have become shorter and crispier. Ehsan Qureshi's double meaning comedy comes mostly as interruption.
On the whole, Ek Paheli Leela is a visual treat with an entertaining story-line.

Brilliantly made film, except for a few glitches towards the climax. Bobby Khan scores really big with his directorial debut. Kudos to him for having tackled the skin show aesthetically, which doesn't even, for once, come across as cheap or anything of that sort. He along with his creative team has not just done, not just a commendable job, but an exceptional job of presenting Sunny Leone in a never-before glam avatar. Having said that, the films roars SUNNY 'LEELA' LEONE all the way! I personally always believed that she could act, having liked her performances in Jism-2 & Ragini MMS-2. Her omnipresence throughout the film, is what works in favor for all of us (& the film). Good music, Beautiful cinematography & fabulous costume designing will keep you comfortably & enjoyably glued to your seat. IF YOU LIKE SUNNY-WORTH IT; IF YOU DON'T-YOU'LL START LIKING!

The film was not bad it is a one time watch but it cannot bore u as it is a fast paced movie and the sunny was good at her place the other supporting cast were good not great.
And Jay bhanushali he deserves the role of Bhairav he acted quite good but the main attraction was obviously "Sunny Leone" and the songs were well made.
Overall I would say it's a popcorn one time watchable and Forgettable movie but still keeps you as a Leone fan and I am waiting for her next release "Kuch Kuch Locha Hai" for which I am more excited than this.
But it was a good attempt for a sunny leones type movie it was good not great and a one time watch.
