Engraving on a lead round ball bullet would have done nothing to increase the range and accuracy of a flintlock musket as Long Rifle was using. An American Civil War era percussion rifle would have had greater accuracy at longer ranges due to the rifling in the barrel. The rifling puts a spin on the bullet and gives it a flatter trajectory which gives greater accuracy at longer ranges.

Goofs
The striker plate is not in the rear firing position when Long Rifle fires his gun. The striker plate must be in the rear position for the flint to hit it, move it forward and the spark from the flint hitting the striker plate causing a spark to light the powder in the pan.
