'Navy Seals vs. Zombies' was a film oddly enough where part of me wanted it to be a guilty pleasure at least. The idea was a pretty decent one and the title sparked some intrigue. So did not want 'Navy Seals vs. Zombies' to be bad or watched it trying hard to dislike or be prejudicial towards it, would never do that to a film as it is an unfair way to do so.

Unfortunately, 'Navy Seals vs. Zombies' is yet another film where a decent idea is completely squandered by really lame execution. Very little works or is good, although not a film with no redeeming qualities and that it doesn't feel as much of a rip off as other films seen is a point in its favour. There are far worse films overall and of the genre granted, but it is always really hard not to be annoyed when potential is not lived up to.

The scenery and music are serviceable, more so than most low-budget films seen recently. Ed Quinn also does his best to keep things afloat and interesting and is above average as a lead.

It is sad though that the rest of the acting is very bad. Even amateurish, with a mix of looking constipated, bad overacting, having the inability of acting scared or fearful of their situation and just acting emotionless. None of their characters are likable, they have cardboard personalities- once you get over the fact that there is literally every cliché in the book- and are severely undeveloped, with a mix of dull as dishwater and cartoonish.

Although films like 'Navy Seals vs. Zombies' are not to be seen for technical refinement, the technical values are Z-grade budget. The editing is atrocious, some of the most confused and shoddiest ever seen, as are even more the ridiculous (to the point of unintentional comedy) look of the seals.

Dialogue is just painful, the interplay is awkward and the actors look even more uncomfortable delivering it while the scripting itself is shallow, on the wrong side of camp and rambling and if you're looking for sense you won't find it. The story is erratically paced and dumb, with a good deal of dullness and with rushed action, the conflict is dull to deadening effect and is silly. The direction never rises above lame.

I am actually a fan of bad movies like this. But why would you call a movie the Navy Seals the battle for New Orleans (title on Netflix), when it is all in Baton Rouge. I see this stupidity in many movies and TV shows. The South is portrayed are all rural, or small towns, or low intelligence, etc. This is like calling a movie the Battle for San Francisco and setting it in Los Angeles. Of course the oh so smart folks who aren't afflicted with the Southern birthright would notice that immediately. The acting was not completely terrible, and the storyline was par for the course for low budget "disaster" movies. At least you did use the actual old capitol building in Baton Rouge.

The Seals are played by old, out of shape actors or are they stuntmen?

Some of the Seals seem to turn pacifist when a zombie runs straight after them snarling. Stop telling them to back down, shoot em in the head before you get bitten!

The Seals have been sent to rescue the Vice President on a visit to Baton Rouge who is caught up in a zombie outbreak.

The Seals then try to rescue some scientists who may have a cure for the zombie virus.

This is a low budget film with poor CGI. Some of the stunt work is ok, the Zombie makeup is terrible, some of the acting is poor.

Overall a bad film that the Syfy channel like to show.

Did anyone else see the cameraman at 1:09:07...? I'm not even sure how I made it that far into the movie without falling asleep... but I'm glad I did because seeing it hit a new low by forgetting to edit out the cameraman was the icing on the cake for this horrendous movie.

I don't know who makes this kind of crap and even bigger question, why did I watch it? I guess only because of Michael Dudikoff as it's his comeback film after 10 years although his screen time is not more than 5-10 mins. I have seen a lot of bad films but this one is a whole new level of bad film, it's like the Ben Hur of crappy films. Normally I don't like to criticize films no matter how bad they are as an appreciation for the people who put in their hard work but this one surely doesn't deserve any. Two minutes into the film and I knew I made a huge mistake of watching this one. I felt asleep ( I swear to God I did) and only if I didn't have this principle to finish a film once I start watching it no matter how bad it is I would have never dared to complete this film and turns out to be the most painful experience I ever had and I was desperately waiting for it to finish. Acting, direction, story, editing, sound and everything else is horrible and I think the best part of the film was it's trailer. Just to give you an idea of what's in the plot, Five Navy Seals go on a rescue mission to save the Vice President of the United States in a town infested by Zombies. I mean really, you will just send five guys with one chopper (not sure how did they manage to got the chopper) to rescue the Vice President of US. The Zombie make up was laughable, I have seen better make up in my office during Halloween, acting was worse than a Kindergarten play and...Forget it, it will go on and on. Stanton Barrett who is some stunt guy should stick to doing stunts or should seriously take a crash course in film direction before his next film. The actors were more painful but It was good to see Michael Dudikoff, not for his acting or anything, he even had this stupid scar oh his face to make him kinda look bad ass. If you love Dudikoff and miss him on screen re-watch American Ninja or any of his previous films till he comes out with any decent one. This is not a review, this a warning message to stay away from this film as I have already suffered and don't want others to go through the pain.

This movie is horrible in every aspect. I mean, how low could that budget have been? Please get a loan or something and at least put some good zombie makeup!! Special effects like fire look like they made it up with a phone movie editor app. Zombies look like my friends at Halloween with hand made makeup.. Navy seals look like they ate 10 times at McDonald's before they filmed.. Please get in shape!!! I am so upset for wasting almost 2 hours of my life!. Please save your time and if you like Zombie films go watch the walking dead or something like it.

This truly sucks!

Navy Seals vs. Zombies had the potential to be a cheap and cheerful 28 Days Later/Dawn of the Dead mashup, but the awfulness of the farrago makes it a lifeless (ha!) affair. Overall, the film lacks pacing (partly to do with interminable scenes of people shaking their heads at various events or just staring at each other), but there are a number of amusing street scenes in which the 'zombies' run about in hilariously random directions, which is worth seeing. Of the zombies - they are very inconsistent, with some being veritable herculoids in possession of super speed and strengh, while others shamble about in a shambling fashion (but still seem to overpower apparently the best-of-the best-of Navy Sealdom with consumate ease). Also, some of the zombies pretty much look like slightly infected humanoids, while others have skull-like visages and red eyes - again, no consistency! So all in all, a shoddy affair, and no mistake.

THe copy I am watching is titles Navy Seals: Battle for New Orleans. It takes place in Baton ROuge...What? Did no one think to look that up?

The editing and continuity people should never be hired for anything over a pre-school production. From the muzzle fire to explosions to bullet hits, they are all completely sad. They show a car window being smashed out and later, that same window was in tact.

The cast...Fat Seals? Really? Couldn't you get people who looked the part? They didn't even shoot realistically. Since when can you let off 3 round bursts without the gun moving at all? My God, even Ed Quinn seemed lost in this dung-heap of a movie. After all, there is only so much you can do with a badly written and directed script.

Unless you want to punish yourself or have really bad vision and hearing, I can't recommend this movie to anyone...ever.

After a strange attack in the city, a Navy Seal operation dispatched into Baton Rouge to rescue the Vice President trapped inside find the area overrun by a horde of ravenous zombies raised by a chemical virus release and must find a way to get out of the city alive.

This one here was quite an enjoyable and exciting zombie effort. One of the best parts here is the fact that there's quite a large amount of frantic military action within this one that makes for a rather thrilling set-up here. As the film starts off with the military group engaging in a rescue mission complete with their common tactics and engaging in several gunfights to accomplish this into a fun scene, while the later scenes of them taking over the building through the series of grandiose military tactics being employed here makes for a fun time as this one gives them the feeling needed to fully support the idea of them being such a well-trained unit believably so that the later scenes are that much more chilling and action-packed once the creatures get involved. Once we get the zombies involved here that becomes a lot more fun with the film going for a long series of action scenes here that may only be quick-shot encounters but manages to work them over simply by virtue of the quantity of the scenes here rather than the quality as it's mostly non-stop throughout here. From the initial scene of them running up to the building to overrun it and trap everyone inside which is quite a nice start, to the scenes of them fighting off the zombies running along the city streets while they take out the stragglers left behind which is some rather fun sequences as well, and then the film's best scenes where they have the race to the secondary building which features plenty of swarming brawls, a slew of fine gunfights and a rather fun getaway in a car mowing down the creatures which makes for a rather thrilling action-packed sequence. As well, the big finish at the end where they overtake the chemical labs and manage to really hold off the creatures and battle their way throughout the facility against the zombies makes for a thrilling, rousing finale here. Alongside the great zombie make-up and gore, these here give this a lot to like. Though this one is a lot of fun, it does have a few rather obvious and easily-spotted flaws. The biggest issue here is the fact that though there's plenty of action to be found here there's a rather stifling amount of time taken up between these encounters because of the brevity of these encounters. This one doesn't really go for the huge, long sequence until the end as the series of encounters here are so much shorter than expected that the gaps between them become all the more obvious against the action scenes. As well, the film's other problem is the fact that there's some utterly terrible CGI work here that manages to really distract and disappoint with the ability to really feature scenes and ideas like the gunshots and blood-splatter being the major culprit while the finale is so absolutely wretched that it sticks out as being wholly inappropriate and quite distracting to end it on that note. The running zombies might be an issue for some, but otherwise it's not as terrible as it could've been.

Rated R: Graphic Violence and Graphic Language.

I gave this movie 6 Stars simply for how the actors handle their weapons. They are pretty good at moves of switching rifle to sidearm. Really smooth. Maybe some NRA members can share their professional knowledge about the military techniques and strategies in the later reviews.

If you are a super fan of navy seals just like me, just go for the movie simply for paying the tribute to those who serve for US so hard. But you are serious about a decent plot and good acting, I strongly suggest just give such a movie a pass-- the trailer of which,sadly,has all the elements of the movie.

The premise of this movie is actually pretty good, but it suffers from frequent bad scripting and bad acting. Don't get me wrong, some of the acting is great like the writers and actors were actually on the same page, but then it's like they walked away and the amateurs took over.

The zombies were OK, they too suffered from some that were really good at it and some that just showed up from a LSU football game the night before.

The best part is the combat sequences that looked really good but it wasn't enough of it. If you have nothing else to do, I mean nothing else, then watch it once. I mean really once.

What a Bad Movie, the effects are terrible and the acting Skills are bad.

The whole town was supposed to be dead but in a certain scene, it shows people walking into a store casually with shopping bags. I'm guessing they forgot to cut that out? Lol

What was that random shot for? I assume to open a door, but you have to show the door.

Already too much talking for a movie with Navy Seals and zombies.

I see this movie gives zombies the power of kip up.

A lot of extended i.e. wasted footage.

I suspect the best part will be Zombie Rick Fox.

Caught this on Sci fi channel should have known better.. The acting is atrocious also the make up for the zombies is below amateur. Don't know why a flicked on this must have been bored..

I like Navy Seal movies and I like Zombie movies... but this one fell apart. The editing was horrible. While trying to meet the rest of the team at the extraction point, AJ and the reporters peek around the corner and you can see folks walking out of a shop (store) with what seems like groceries (casually) yet Aj and the rest are running for their lives. Another seen when the team enters the lab, you can see a set worker crouching down trying to avoid the shot... These were the obvious flubs. Can't imagine what I missed.

I was confused from the very beginning - and I still am, a little bit. I notice that here the film is listed as "Navy Seals vs. Zombies." That makes perfect sense, because that title sums up the movie perfectly. I watched in on Netflix Canada though - and there it's listed as Navy Seals: The Battle For New Orleans." So I spent a lot of the 90 minutes wondering how New Orleans found its way into the title, since the whole movie is about a zombie outbreak in Baton Rouge - and as far as I can remember there wasn't a single reference to New Orleans in the entire movie. I notice that there are reviewers on various sites who say that this movie is about a zombie invasion of New Orleans. But it isn't. It's about a zombie outbreak in Baton Rouge. It's all very confusing. Did somebody somewhere (in coming up with that alternative title) not realize that New Orleans and Baton Rouge are not the same place?

The confusion around the title notwithstanding, I found this surprisingly enjoyable. It's a fairly simple and straightforward, low budget movie with a largely unknown cast. You expect little out of it - you get more than you expect. There was one chuckle in this. The cable news network that was reporting on the outbreak was called "ZNN." Yeah. Too cute. At first you're kind of set up to believe that the outbreak is a result of an enemy attack using some sort of biological weapon - "to bring a superpower to its knees" as one character says. But it turns out that the biological weapon seems to have been created in a US government lab and it accidentally got out. I wasn't entirely clear on whether you had to actually die to become a "zombie" or just be infected through a bite. It was made clear that you had to shoot the zombies in the head to do away with them.

Most of the movie is set in Baton Rouge (with a little bit at a Seals command centre in Virginia Beach) as a Navy Seals team enters the city and tries to evacuate (1) the Vice President, who's stranded in the city, and (2) scientists at the lab where the virus was created in the hopes that they might be able to make an antidote. Most of it is a pretty standard battle against the zombies. That's becoming a bit too routine, what with the zombie plague currently on the go on movies and television. But it's still a decent action flick, whose ending seems to be a bit of a tribute to US Navy Seals. If you're into the zombie genre, this is worth taking in. (6/10)

At first I thought it was a rather funny movie, like "Scout's Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse", but this nonsense surpasses everything "extremely bad" - from the actors (just underground) to camera work, mask, image editing and Sound (especially German translation of some dialogues). Can you rate worse than 1?

Horrible movie. Even the gunfire looks like it's from a toy gun.
