Chris Hemsworth is reflecting on being accidentally hit by Oscar nominee Kristen Stewart while filming “Snow White and the Huntsman” a decade ago.
During a GQ video interview looking back on his most memorable roles, the “Thor: Love and Thunder” star revisited the 2012 update on the “Snow White” fairytale, in which Hemsworth portrayed the titular huntsman. Co-star Stewart, as Snow White, infamously hit Hemsworth while filming an action scene.
“I was more upset she didn’t continue on through the take,” Hemsworth joked of Stewart. “She kind of hit me and then immediately went, ‘Oh, my God, I’m so sorry.'”
He added, “I was like, ‘That would’ve been the perfect, most truthful take that we had.’ I think she was more upset than I was.”
Hemsworth discussed the “brashness” of his huntsman character, Eric, saying, “There was a carefree chaotic sort of nature to him which allowed...

When it released Wonder Woman 1984 to its HBO Max servers in December, WarnerMedia made it abundantly clear that it was ready for a new era of movie distribution. Now, in its list of new releases for February 2021, Warner is attempting another grand experiment for HBO Max.
Judas and the Black Messiah premieres on HBO Max this Feb. 12 and is by every indication the kind of film that awards shows go gaga over. Both Daniel Kaluuya and and Lakeith Stanfield look to be at the top of their respective games in this story about Black Panther Party chairman Fred Hampton and the FBI that wants to take him down. Will this have the same rhetorical oomph on the small screen? Guess we’ll find out!

It still might be a little while before we’re able to go back to the movies again. Thankfully, with its list of new releases for February 2021, Amazon Prime is bringing the theater home. The movies are the real appeal this month.
Amazon’s offerings are highlighted by two original films of note. The first is Bliss, which premieres on Feb. 5. This will star Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek as a couple experiencing some intimacy issues. Presumably this is all just a tune up for when Wilson dons a mustache in Disney+’s Loki later in May. The other film is the sci-fi rom-com The Map of Tiny Perfect Things on Feb. 12.
Other library movies include Antz, Moulin Rouge, The Prestige, The Village, and Dazed and Confused, all of which arrive on Feb. 1. Sonic the Hedgehog is set to arrive later on Feb. 18.
Amazon is premiering only one new original series this month.

If “The Little Things” seems like a movie from another time, it is. John Lee Hancock wrote the script 28 years ago, back when he wrote the Kevin Costner vehicle “A Perfect World” for director Clint Eastwood. Steven Spielberg was interested, but found the drama about the fight to find an L.A. serial killer too noir. Eastwood considered it, then Warren Beatty. Then Danny DeVito.
“I put in a drawer, and didn’t think about it,” said Hancock, who went on to direct “The Rookie,” “The Alamo,” and “The Blind Side.” “But every couple years, Johnson called.”
“The Little Things” seems commercial enough: Set in the 1990s, it’s a thriller about grizzled ex-LAPD detective Joe Deacon (Denzel Washington) who goes into exile after an unsolved serial killer case goes terribly wrong. When he visits LA and reconnects with his old department, he meets hotshot detective Jim Baxter (Rami Malek...

Exclusive: The market for new material and big spec script vehicles proved strong last year despite the pandemic. First up to test if specs and packages pick right up will be Safe House scribe David Guggenheim and producer Simon Kinberg, the duo that previously teamed on the series Designated Survivor.
Sources said that Guggenheim has written a script he developed with Kinberg, who is producing. The result will be brought to market this morning by Verve, which reps Guggenheim. The untitled script has a big action concept with franchise potential, a supernatural element, and a big lead role for an actress.
Guggenheim last year sold Our Man From Jersey to Netflix in a sven-figure deal and is writing it as a star vehicle for Mark Wahlberg to play a blue-collar 007 protagonist, with Wahlberg producing with Stephen Levinson, who hatched the idea.
Kinberg last year made a seven-figure deal for his first spec since Mr.

ITV's Collision is getting an American remake for NBC.
Anthony Horowitz, creator and writer of the original 2009 series, will be working with CSI's Carol Mendelsohn to bring the project to TV screens in the Us.
Horowitz is penning the first two episodes of a proposed ten-episode order.
"Collision was one of the first genuine event dramas when it aired on ITV in 2009. Uniquely stripped across five continuous nights, it was watched and talked about by millions of viewers," said producer Jill Green.
"We are delighted to now be working on a 'local' version for NBC, as it was always Anthony's and my dream that the drama should exist on a larger scale and as a longer-length series.
"This is a country where it is routine to use your car to get everywhere - and never give it a second thought. The drama has universal, relatable characters and fuses together multiple genres.

ITV has confirmed that Safe House has been commissioned for a second series.
The drama starring Christopher Eccleston, Marsha Thomason and Paterson Joseph will be back for four more episodes to air in 2016.
The new run will continue to focus on married couple Robert (Eccleston) and Katy (Thomason), whose guest house provides the perfect cover for a police safe house.
"We had a tremendous reaction from the audience to Safe House," said ITV's director of drama Steve November. "From the gripping story and compelling performances, we were delighted with every aspect of the production.
"With Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone writing the scripts, and [executive producers Jill Green and Paula Cuddy] producing, we know the new series will be in safe hands."

Underneath Safe House's over-reliance on flashback and cheap tricks lies a beautifully directed, strongly performed drama...
This review contains spoilers.
We’ve reached the halfway point in this new ITV drama starring former Doctor Who, Christopher Eccleston, and the dramatic moments of the previous instalment hang heavy throughout Safe House episode three.
During part two’s denouement, we were introduced to new character Gemma Underwood. And then we were quickly unintroduced to her as she was murdered by the villain of the piece, Michael Collersdale (played very devilishly by Peter Ferdinando). Her link to the ongoing events with the Blackwood family (who have been stashed away in the lake district in the titular safe house along with Eccleston’s Robert after an attack by Collersdale) is revealed - she’s the sister of mother Ali (Holby City’s Nicola Stephenson).
As we discover over the course of the proceedings,...

Ignore the annoying contrivances, and Safe House continues to be an engrossing crime drama...
This review contains spoilers.
The weather has changed for the worse in the idyllic surroundings of the Lake District as twists are unveiled and forgotten memories return in Safe House.
This second instalment of this engrossing new drama is bookended with surprises for the audience. The Blackwell family, safely ensconced in the titular safe house, run by former policeman Robert and his wife Katy, discover their son has been attacked.
Initially, we are led to believe that Sam Blackwell, the eldest son, has been involved in a drugs revenge attack by Michael Collersdale - the same man who tried to abduct Joe Blackwell (the youngest of the family), and ended up almost battering father David to death (and actually killing a helpful passer-by in the process). The focus on David as the reason for the crime...

Christopher Eccleston has spoken about his time on Doctor Who, insisting he is "always there in spirit".
The actor was quizzed about his one-series stint as the ninth Doctor during an interview on BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends programme, to promote new ITV thriller Safe House.
"I don't think it's important that I left - I think that it's important that I did it in the first place," he said. "I'm still there - I was in David Tennant, I was in Matt Smith, I was in Peter Capaldi. I'm always there in spirit."
Eccleston explained that he had originally volunteered himself for the role to showrunner Russell T Davies because he "wanted to try and learn a lighter way of being".
"I think I over-pitched the comedy," he admitted. "If I had my time again, I would do the comedy very differently - but I think where I did...

Christopher Eccleston has been talking more about why he did Doctor Who, and why he left the programme so soon...
Christopher Eccleston's stint in the Tardis lasted just 13 episodes back in 2005, when the actor quit the role, in turn making way for David Tennant. He's talked in the past about not wanted to be seen in just one role, and that he has no plans to reprise the role of the Doctor.
Now, in two new interviews to promote the ITV show Safe House, he's revealed more about why he quit Doctor Who so soon.
"I'd had enough", he told the Daily Record. "I wanted to do it my way, they wanted something else. We were never going to compromise, so it was best to be straight about it and just go".
"It's very easy to stay in one job and make that your comfort zone", he added, "and...

Dominic Cooper, who will be taking on the lead role of Jesse Custer in AMC’s Preacher
AMC has cast the lead role in its upcoming series Preacher. The adaptation of the Garth Ennis comic series has formally signed Dominic Cooper as the titular preacher Jesse Custer, as confirmed by executive producer and co-developer Seth Rogen.
We have Jesse Custer! @dominiccoop is gonna save our souls. #Preacher

This is not Cooper’s first foray into the world of comic books, as he has also played Howard Stark, father to Iron Man Tony Stark, on both the big and small screen. Cooper, whose formal signing comes after weeks of talks, joins a cast that already includes Ruth Negga, Joseph Gilgun, Ian Colletti, and Lucy Griffiths. A premiere date for Preacher has yet to be announced.

Christopher Eccleston has spoken about class inequality in British acting.
The Safe House star admitted to Radio Times that he still feels "insecure" as a working class actor.
He said: "I had a sense acting wasn't for me because I'm not educated. British society has always been based on inequality, particularly culturally.
"I've lived with it, but it's much more pronounced now, and it would be difficult for someone like me to come through.
"You can't blame Eddie Redmayne, Benedict Cumberbatch and others taking their opportunities but it will lead to a milky, anodyne culture. To an extent, that's already happened."
Eccleston added: "I confess I don't watch much film or television drama but I'm aware of the predominance of white, male roles.
"It's not just about the working class. There's not enough writing for women or people of colour. It frustrates me when they insist on doing all-male Shakespearean...

ITV's Safe House could become a returning series, writer Michael Crompton has confirmed.
Christopher Eccleston stars in the four-parter as a retired detective who turns his home into a 'safe house' for strangers at risk.
"The idea was actually given to me by Paula Cuddy [of producers Eleventh Hour Films]," Crompton revealed at a recent press launch. "But it always intrigued me - the sort of people who do run a safe house and why, and just that whole world.
"You're under incredible pressure, and there's a vacuum in which anything can happen - so it was a really exciting premise and one that hopefully we can return to over the next 2-3-4-5 series."
Cuddy added that there are "most definitely" plans for more Safe House, with each potential new series following the plight of a new series of guests.
Jason Merrells, Nicola Stephenson and Paterson Joseph also appear in the first series,...

Ex-Emmerdale star Jason Merrells has admitted that the open-ended nature of soap left him frustrated.
Merrells told press including Digital Spy that he was "so proud" of his working on the ITV soap, but added that he missed "playing a story from A to B".
"That for me was the biggest frustration of being in a soap," he said. "Although I loved my time there, the biggest frustration is that you're not playing a story from A to B - you don't know what the end is and every week it's, 'Oh, we're going that way now?' - for me, it's about telling a story [from start to finish].
"I was so proud of Emmerdale - not just what I did, but what the other guys were doing in it. I thought we were easily the best in the business - and a lot of other people agree.
