"The Right Eye" and "The Right Eye 2" were the only movie productions to be granted access to film inside the Houdini Shops & Museum in Las Vegas and San Francisco. Director Lawrence Xu initially contacted Houdini Shops & Museum in April, 2011; after three months of negotiation General Manager Tim White finally agreed to the filming proposal. In addition Mr. White also improvised his real life character in the two movies, to be continued by reprising the same role throughout future sequels in "The Left Eye" and "The Third Eye" series.
Director Lawrence Xu selected Rachel Faulkner for the female lead 'Violet' out of 2,500 actor profiles from casting websites. The two never met, spoke on the phone, or corresponded through email until first day on the set (everything was arranged through Rachel's manager Marina Masowietsky). That was how much confidence Lawrence Xu had in Rachel Faulkner.
