After so long of wait trying too watch the infamous film of Edwin Valeros life story I finally got the pleasure too watch it.
And all I have too say is wow.
The movie starts off showing you the young career life of Edwin as a young promising amateur boxing star. As well as his hardships outside of it.
We go too see him from a street thug to a boxing star. And well it's a ride till it finishes. The acting from everyone around is amazing. And especially a strong performance from Alexander Leterni as Edwin Valero. Especially in the final act, his performance is haunting as you cannot dare too look away. As the film ramps up tremendously.
The soundtrack is quite good. With some very nice acoustic guitars that make sure too give you goosebumps.
The boxing scenes are nothing to be amazed but they do a good job progressing the story.
The only gripe I have is on some parts how I felt a bit lost. As some scenes suddenly made time pass though we were still absorbing the following of what had happened in the previous scenes.
But overall a very well made film. Had me glued onto my seat. The third and final act is where it was the most intense parts of the whole film. It was terrifying as you see the transformation of El Inca.
If you haven't heard the story of Edwin Valero then you are in for a story. A tale of love, inner demons and tragedy.
A story of a promising, but wasted talent.
