Exclusive: Steven Fisher has been upped to partner at Trevor Engelson’s Beverly Hills-based management/production company Underground.

Fisher has been with Underground for five years. Prior to his post at Underground, he was an agent at both UTA and ICM. Edm trio Major Lazer and Brazilian singer Anitta have unveiled their new summer dancehall track, “Make It Hot.”

The song, which also carries influences of reggae hip-hop and even gives a shoutout to Jennifer Lopez (“Y que soy del blocke también como Jenny”), arrives with an animated lyric video that shows the Major Lazer character reaching spiritual enlightenment, a common theme in recent Ml releases.

In a new interview with Billboard, the singer-songwriter revealed that he actually forgot that “Cold Water” was one of his songs until it became a hit. The tune was apparently drafted with producer Benny Blanco at a time when the two were cranking out tons of new material, and by the time Diplo reached out to Sheeran about producing “Cold Water,” the vocalist had already forgotten that it existed.

Back in September, Major Lazer and Showtek teamed up to deliver “Believers,” a hard hitting collaboration that struck a balance between trap and dancehall. The two musical forces have joined up again this week to offer up an official music video for the tune, which takes a stance on the current state of affairs in Syria.

The concept for the “Believers” video draws inspiration from the Syrian conflict, specifically the infamous image of Omran Daqneesh, which depicted the young boy covered in ash and rubble after he survived an air strike attack. The video follows a young boy and juxtaposes shots of his family and community against imagery of destruction and mayhem.

“Hey Baby” earns its own share of comparison to Major Lazer’s massive single “Lean On,” kicking off with a tropical meets pop production complete with offbeat synth plucks and slowed down four on the floor beats. The verses features some heavily auto-tuned topline hooks courtesy of Deb’s Daughter, before successive snare hits push the song forward into the drops. Unsurprisingly, we’re treated to twisted vocal chops layered over steel drum melodies and uplifting rhythms.

Following up on a phenomenal 2015 that saw the dancehall trio’s “Lean On” dominating the air waves, “Cold Water” went on to top Spotify’s global top 200 chart, while becoming the subject of remixes from Gucci Mane and Afrojack. Now, the group’s leader has revealed another upcoming version of the song.

Diplo took to Twitter yesterday to announce that “Cold Water” will be receiving an Indian rework in the near future. This new version of the hit single will feature Indian singer and composer Anirudh Ravichander, who has been rumored to have had a hand in the creation of the original song. It will be released to help celebrate Diwali or the festival of lights, an annual festival that symbolizes the triumph of good over evil.

Justin Bieber has revealed that he’ll be taking his Purpose tour down under while bringing along a special musical guest. None other than Martin Garrix will join the singer on his first ever run of stadium shows in Australia, and his first set of dates there since 2013. Garrix will hit the road with Bieber in March and join him at every stop along the way as the two musicians hit some of the biggest cities in the country.

News of the collaborative tour doesn’t come as a major surprise considering that both Justin Bieber and Martin Garrix are managed by Scooter Braun, and only furthers the pop star’s continued flirtations with the dance music community. MTV announced that it will premiere the new one-hour documentary “Prescription For Change: Ending America’s Opioid Crisis,” which tackles America’s opioid addiction epidemic, on October 11th. The film will highlight the societal forces that have contributed to the crisis, follows three young women in recovery, and will feature a frank conversation about substance use between Grammy Award-winning artist Macklemore and President Barack Obama.

From his recent collaboration with Justin Bieber on “Cold Water” to his upcoming new single with Mia, Diplo is a producer who has his fingers in a lot of pies. A new Snapchat story from the Major Lazer frontman proves that his immersion into mainstream pop shows no signs of slowing down either, as he teases at an upcoming collaboration with singer Ariana Grande.

The Snapchat story runs for only a few seconds, showing Grande at the microphone busting out some chops. It then cuts forward to show her and Diplo reviewing the progress of their collaboration, giving us a very brief sample of what they have cooking.

When they aren’t busy dropping chart topping hits like “Cold Water” with Justin Bieber, dancehall trio Major Lazer can be found at a slew of headlining festival appearances. One such performance took place at Lollapalooza’s 25 anniversary edition over the last weekend, where the Diplo led dance music outfit dropped a DJ set before the massive crowds.

Complete with a jaw dropping visual show and a crew of on stage dancers, Major Lazer unloaded over an hour of expertly curated music for the Lollapalooza crowd, dropping in a number of their biggest hits in rapid fire fashion. Diplo, Walshy Fire and Jillionaire continually hype up the crowd throughout the performance with vocal commands and spoken interludes, and the whole show goes down as a frenzy of energy.

Back in 2007, rapper Mia was thrust into the spotlight with her single “Paper Planes,” an infectious pop number that took the radio by storm and gained further notoriety when it featured in the trailers for Pineapple Express. What a lot of dance music fans may not realize though, is that the hit song was produced by none other than Diplo, who is now best known as the leader of Major Lazer and one half of Jack Ü.

Diplo and Mia have a history not only as musical collaborators, but as former lovers who underwent a rather messy breakup. Earlier this year, Mad Decent head honcho Diplo announced that his esteemed label would be adding a new addition to its established brand of festivals. Mad Decent Block Party and Mad Decent Boat Party have already been well received by the dance music community, so it was only natural when Mad Decent Beach Party was revealed as the newest festival on the label’s event lineup.

The first round of artists have been now announced for the event, giving us our first look at the talent secured. Heavy hitters such as Diplo, Major Lazer, Nghtmre, Alison Wonderland, Dillon Francis, A-Trak and Flosstradamus appear on the list, as well as several others. That’s only the first wave of the lineup, too, and there are still more artists to be announced in the future – so stay tuned.
