Khalid has released the second single from his upcoming (and, for now, untitled) album. It’s called “Eleven” and comes with a lyric video showing a sports car cruising through the city at night.
In the lyrics, Khalid describes looking a crush up and down in the passenger seat: “Late at night, eleven, we’re cruisin’/Lately, I’ve been watchin’ your movements/If I’m the only one that you’re choosin’/Am I your favorite drug you’ve been usin’?”

Dancehall maven Sean Paul and reggaeton royal J Balvin delivered an en fuego performance of their collaborative track, “Contra La Pared,” which means “Against the Wall,” during The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday.
The pair donned colorful clothing to match their lively Tainy-produced tune as they bounced along to their club-ready track, sprinkling in coordinated dance moves, which mirrored the choreography found in the song’s video. The track follows their previous 2017 team-up for Major Lazer song “Buscando Huellas.”
“It was great working with J Balvin,” Paul said in a previously released statement.

Since making her promising directorial debut “Palo Alto” in 2014, Gia Coppola has been slow to release a follow-up. While her next feature is still in development, Coppola stepped back behind the camera for a simple yet stylish music video, debuting exclusively on IndieWire. A member of one of the royal families of cinema, Coppola went old school for the short film, shooting in black-and-white and working with one of her aunt Sofia’s favorite actresses: Elle Fanning.
The video is being released concurrently with Fanning’s latest film, “Teen Spirit,” directed by Max Minghella. The song, “Little Bird,” was written by Annie Lennox and sung by Fanning herself.
In “Teen Spirit,” Fanning plays Violet, “a shy teenager who dreams of escaping her small town and pursuing her passion to sing,” according to the film’s press release. “With the help of an unlikely mentor, she enters a local singing competition that will test her integrity,...

A few years ago, Eric Wareheim took a photo of his then-girlfriend's naked ass and sent it to an ice sculptor. Wareheim likes to throw raucous house parties "based on different parts of anatomy," he says. "I did one called Black Cock [black light and penis-themed]. Another one was Laser Boobs." The sculptor took Wareheim's photo and used it to carve an enormous ice butt, which became the centerpiece of an ass-focused party called Snow Booty. The sculpture had a canal carved into it that served as a conduit for booze, with its lower opening at the butt hole.

In the macho world of superstar DJs (and irate presidents), Twitter is the battleground, the premier forum for airing grievances about the competition. Case in point: In March of 2016, Diplo – who made $23 million that year, according to Forbes – decided that another producer, Zedd ($24 million) had plagiarized the work of the young Australian beat-maker Flume. So Diplo took aim on social media and let fly: "[You’re] young and rich and a great musician … Use that to your advantage … Don't be such a pompous cornball loser also I fucked your girl."

Katy Perry sat down with James Corden on Sunday during her weekend-long livestream and ranked the bedroom skills of three of her famous boyfriends: John Mayer, Orlando Bloom and Diplo. Unfortunately, the Major Lazer and Jack Ü powerhouse came in at the bottom of her list.

Commenting on a tweet from Thump sharing an article on Perry’s ranking, he wrote, “I don’t even remember having sex.

Ultra Music Festival once again took over Miami’s Bayfront Park last weekend, delivering a solid three days of non-stop music curated by a host of world renowned DJs and performers. A modern-day cultural Berlin wall, Cuba may not be receptive to commerce, but it remains open to the art and culture from its neighbor 90 miles north. As such, images of the country remain illusive and seductive to an American viewer. It’s this kinder, gentler world of “normalized” relations that serves as a jumping-off point for Give Me Future, as Edm trio Major Lazer dream of adding a Cuba show to their tour of conflict zones. Known for summer bangers “Lean On” and “Light It Up,” they group has an easier time playing in Pakistan and Venezuela, despite the Caribbean vibes of their most popular hits.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last six months, by now you’ve probably heard Major Lazer‘s latest hit with Justin Bieber and MØ on “Cold Water.” The song topped Spotify’s global 200 chart last summer, while its lyric video has garnered over 500 million views on YouTube. Considering the heavy exposure “Cold Water” has achieved, it’s hard to imagine how it could slip out of anyone’s memory, but that’s exactly what happened to co-writer Ed Sheeran.
In a new interview with Billboard, the singer-songwriter revealed that he actually forgot that “Cold Water” was one of his songs until it became a hit. The tune was apparently drafted with producer Benny Blanco at a time when the two were cranking out tons of new material, and by the time Diplo reached out to Sheeran about producing “Cold Water,” the vocalist had already forgotten that it existed.

As the drums crash on, Selah Sue’s soulful crooning takes over, set against an uplifting horn melody and plucky guitar strums. The varied vocal performances in the song keep the focus moving throughout its short runtime, lending an eclectic vibe to the collaboration.

When Skrillex and Diplo first announced back in 2014 that they were working on a single with Justin Bieber, no one could have predicted the pop vocalist would go on to become of one of dance music’s most coveted singers. Of course, “Where Are Ü Now?” went on to become a big hit, leading to other Edm collaborations like “Let Me Love You” with DJ Snake and “Cold Water” with Major Lazer. Despite some rather vocal resistance from a number of fans in the scene, Bieber has managed to fully ingrain himself in dance music consciousness in just a few short years.
The latest event in Bieber’s ongoing conquest of dance music sees the singer added to the lineup for Sweden’s Summerburst festival in 2017, an event that traditionally books Edm acts. So far, Bieber and Axwell /\ Ingrosso are the only artists to have been officially announced for the lineup.

Skrillex is definitely one of the busiest producers in the game. Somehow he manages to keep up with releasing top notch original tracks like the recent “Waiting” with Rl Grime and What So Not, in addition to constant touring and producing acclaimed work with his side project Jack Ü. That’s enough to make anyone’s head spin, but it appears as if Skrillex is already gearing up for his next collab.
A new Snapchat courtesy of Diplo seems to depict Skrillex working in the studio with Dutch producer Boaz van de Beatz. Boaz van de Beatz is an established artist in his own right, having worked with Major Lazer and Jack Ü in the past, alongside numerous others.
The image has led to a whirlwind of speculation that Diplo and Skrillex may be finally following up their smash hit with Jack Ü’s debut record. Anticipation has been high...

It feels like it’s been a while since we heard anything about Music Is The Weapon, the planned follow up to Major Lazer‘s 2015 hit album Peace Is The Mission. Thankfully, Diplo is finally breaking his silence on the topic. Speaking with Billboard at the AMAs, the producer offered up some new details about the future of his dancehall trio and fans will be excited by the news.
Major Lazer’s next album will finally be arriving in the first month of 2017, with the group’s collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Partynextdoor slated to be released on January 6 ahead of the LP. In addition to that single, the trio have another forthcoming collaboration scheduled for release around the same time, though no details have been revealed at this point.

Fans of Diplo have been in for some major releases this week. Not only did his dancehall three piece Major Lazer drop an Indian remix of “Cold Water” for Diwali, but the producer finally unleashed his collaboration with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, titled “Hey Baby,” as well. As if that weren’t enough, we now have an animated music video of the new single to enjoy.
The video for “Hey Baby” kicks off with a comic book theme as Diplo, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike are given some special movie theater tickets. They then enter a cinematic world with references to classic films like Terminator, King Kong, Jurassic Park and more. The plot is all over the place as the three producers warp into different realms, ranging from pirates to zombies to knights and dragons.

Earlier in the month, Diplo revealed that his dancehall trio Major Lazer would be releasing an Indian version of their latest hit “Cold Water” with Justin Bieber. The new version of the familiar tune was released in conjunction with Diwali, or the festival of lights, an annual Indian tradition that celebrates the triumph of good over evil. Now that the celebration is complete, the new rendition of “Cold Water” has hit the internet for streaming.
The Diwali rework of “Cold Water” sounds about how you’d expect, as Major Lazer fill the backdrop behind Justin Bieber’s vocal hooks with traditional Indian instrumentation. The remix opens with a stunning string section and Bieber’s voice, soon joined by tabla percussion and exotic flute sounds that bring an Eastern edge to the tune.

Earlier in the summer, Dutch DJ duo Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike began teasing a then unreleased collaboration with none other than Diplo, testing the ID out during a performance. Now, the result of their studio time together is finally here as “Hey Baby” with Deb’s Daughter drops on Diplo’s Mad Decent imprint.
“Hey Baby” earns its own share of comparison to Major Lazer’s massive single “Lean On,” kicking off with a tropical meets pop production complete with offbeat synth plucks and slowed down four on the floor beats. The verses features some heavily auto-tuned topline hooks courtesy of Deb’s Daughter, before successive snare hits push the song forward into the drops. Unsurprisingly, we’re treated to twisted vocal chops layered over steel drum melodies and uplifting rhythms.

As much of a joke as the list has become lately, we all still look forward to it each and every year and though it doesn’t hold too much legitimacy in the eyes of true dance music fans, it’s always interesting to see who ends up coming out on top.
Leaks and rumors have pointed to Martin Garrix emerging as #1 for 2016, something which would certainly make sense given the huge year he’s had. Not to mention he’s also been releasing new tracks left, right and centre this week. With the awards show now streaming live from the Heineken Music Hall, it shouldn’t be too much longer before we figure out whether or not...

Major Lazer scored a massive hit this summer when they released “Cold Water” with Justin Bieber and MØ. Following up on a phenomenal 2015 that saw the dancehall trio’s “Lean On” dominating the air waves, “Cold Water” went on to top Spotify’s global top 200 chart, while becoming the subject of remixes from Gucci Mane and Afrojack. Now, the group’s leader has revealed another upcoming version of the song.
Diplo took to Twitter yesterday to announce that “Cold Water” will be receiving an Indian rework in the near future. What a lot of dance music fans may not realize though, is that the hit song was produced by none other than Diplo, who is now best known as the leader of Major Lazer and one half of Jack Ü.
Diplo and Mia have a history not only as musical collaborators, but as former lovers who underwent a rather messy breakup. However, it appears the two artists have buried the hatchet in order to continue working on music together. Which is of course great news for fans, as their chemistry in the studio is undeniable.
