On Thursday (December 5), the 44-year-old Magic Mike actor took to his Instagram Story to share a shirtless thirst trap as he got ready for a day of filming his upcoming heist movie Roofman.

Exclusive: Deadline has the first still from Die, My Love, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Pattinson and Lakeith Stanfield, the new thriller from renowned Scottish filmmaker Lynne Ramsay (You Were Never Really Here), which adapts the 2017 novel by Ariana Harwicz.

Set in rural America, Die, My Love is a portrait of a woman (Lawrence) engulfed by love and madness. Pattinson plays her husband, and Stanfield, her lover. Also in the cast are Sissy Spacek and Nick Nolte.

Ramsay directed from her script written with Enda Walsh. Producers included Justine Ciarrocchi and Lawrence on behalf of Excellent Cadaver, as well as Martin Scorsese, Andrea Calderwood, and Black Label Media, which also served as the project’s financier.

In a statement accompanying the photo reveal, Excellent Cadaver told Deadline, “It’s impossible to convey what it’s like to witness Lynne Ramsay make art. She’s one of one.”

Vom von Graham King („Bohemian Rhapsody“) produzierten Biopic mit Jacksons Neffe Jaafar Jackson in der Hauptrolle hatte es im Rahmen der CinemaCon im Frühjahr erstes Material zu sehen gegeben, bei der Universal-Präsentation bei den Filmtagen Köln sorgte es für den lautesten Beifall.

Nach seiner Verschiebung in den Herbst rückt „Michael“ näher an die Awards-Season. Der von King produzierte „Bohemian Rhapsody“ war in den USA Anfang November 2018 gestartet, war auf ein Einspiel von 216,7 Mio. Dollar gekommen und hatte vier Oscars gewonnen.

Gleichzeitig mit „Michael“ startet in den USA „Roofman“ mit Channing Tatum in der Hauptrolle, eine Woche später geht „Tron: Ares“ mit Jared Leto an den Start.

Exclusive: Lionsgate’s Antoine Fuqua directed Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, is moving out of next year’s Easter frame of April 18-20 and to Oct. 3, 2025. Universal is handling the overseas release of the movie which stars the King of Pop’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, in the title role.

In addition, Lionsgate has dated the Aziz Ansari comedy, Good Fortune, for Oct. 17. The pic stars Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen. In the movie, a well meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Reeves) meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Ansari) and a wealthy capitalist (Rogen). Lionsgate received great laughs for the pic’s first footage at last spring’s CinemaCon.

The Graham King produced Michael is now positioned in the awards corridor next year. Previously, King’s Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, opened on Nov. 2, 2018 to $51M stateside and went on to gross $216.4M stateside and $903.6M worldwide plus four Oscar wins.

Paramount will release “Roofman,” the upcoming film from “The Place Beyond the Pines” director Derek Cianfrance, on October 3, 2025 as part of a first look deal with Miramax, which acquired the film for distribution in the U.S. and other specific territories.

Based on a true story, the film stars Channing Tatum as Jeffrey Manchester, a former Army Ranger who falls on hard times and resorts to robbing various McDonald’s locations, earning the media nickname “Roofman” for how he carves holes in the roofs of the fast food joints to pull off his heists.

After escaping from prison, he starts a new life while hiding in a toy store, falling in love with a single mother, played by Kirsten Dunst, and her two daughters. However, his criminal past and a final robbery threaten to destroy his chance at redemption.

Peter Dinklage also stars in the film, which Cianfrance co-wrote with Kirk Gunn.

The 44-year-old actor arrived on set of his upcoming movie Roofman to film a few scenes on Thursday (October 24) in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Channing was seen wearing a striped shirt and jeans as he drove around in a white car.

The movie is based “on the remarkable story of Jeffrey Manchester, an eccentric and charming serial robber who broke into more than 60 McDonald’s overnight via their roofs, then emptied the cash register in the morning after herding staff into freezers. Fresh from starring in this year’s Civil War, Kirsten Dunst will feature in Derek Cianfrance’s in true crime drama Roofman – the director’s first film in eight years.

Kirsten Dunst has a long and storied filmography, but the actor added an undoubted flourish to it this year, leading the cast of Alex Garland’s Civil War. The A24 movie proved to be one of the most viscerally-unforgettable films of the year, reminding us (if indeed we needed reminding) of the power of Dunst’s enduring onscreen presence.
