Usual kollywood horror film that wants to scare you and wants to make you laugh at the same time.

Enough has been said and written about the horror films made in kollywood and this film Jackson Durai is no different, Locking up the term logic in bank locker safely, all the director wants to do is to scare you, make you laugh, scare you, make you laugh, Usual back story for the ghost and then what its the same, scare you, make you laugh, scare you, make you laugh.

Sibiraj's acting looks ameture while Satyaraj compensates with it. The only relief of the film is Yogi babu, gem of a performance with his comic timings, even the screen where he isn't shown, he makes us laugh with his one liners.

Jackson Durai is another addition to the popular "Horror-comedy genre". Does it add value to this genre? Or does it comprise run-of- the- mill elements often associated with this genre? Read more to find out ..

Jackson Durai directed by Dharanidharan (of Burma fame) is about how a series of paranormal activities get entwined with the life of a policeman. How does the police officer tackle this? How does he handle this? Jackson Durai answers these queries.

One can expect that someone who directed Burma will definitely sparkle up the screen. Instead, what we get is a mediocre transition of a tiring attempt. Punctured by a lot of loopholes the movie suffers from a lazy screenplay. The story in itself is all over the place and lacks focus. Moving at a shallow note, Jackson Durai excites us at a few places but predominantly features a flat scale. At times we are left wondering " Where is the high point? Why hasn't the graph spiked up?"

Following his previous venture, Iraivi, Vivek Harshan again takes care of editing in Jackson Durai. But his editing is bare and the sequences often leak into one another. But the jump scare cuts and edits often associated with the horror genre have been executed down right to the tee. The pace often takes a backseat and although it eventually does pick up, it is bound to test the patience of many.

The cast has done a good job. The DoP, Yuvraj, has done a decent job. The BGM fills up the quiet moments and fulfills its purpose quite effectively. The costume design and the hands behind the makeup department have rolled up their socks to give a shot at making their attempts work out and have churned out fair results. But it's the art design that stands out. An impressive art design is successful when it comes to recreating the premise of a place haunted by ghosts. Similarly the art director has quite effectively handled the transitions and is able to differentiate it with relative ease.

Overall the director seems to have tried his best at giving us an entertaining feature but instead cluelessly heads in a direction which lacks a sense of purpose. He handles a texture that is not definite and weaves a rather loose structure around it.

Verdict: Even a good cast finds it difficult to save this film

The movie was worst. Nobody acted good in the movie. Songs and BGM in the movie were also worst. The comedy scenes and the story in the movie were also very irritating.

Yesterday watched jackson durai in Ktv, , best spoof comedy,Sibiraj has delivered an ideal performance and Karunakaran has also done a good job. Rajendran and Yogi Babu also have justice to their roles. The cast has done a fulfilling work. The BGM does its task well. The art direction is extremely good, that it shows a haunted bungalow very realistic. over all true entertainer.

Watched in mxplayer ,JacksonDurai stands different from a lot of horror films. The idea of pre-independence freedom fighting angle is noteworthy. the Comedy backed with a good story and horror elements make it a good watch. The Little boy ghost...LOL.

Awesome movie with a well written story plot, well directed, some new kind of horror comedy punches and with some unexpected thrillers... definitely must watch stuff , Its a 100% entertaining movie! Pakka comedy film.

Best lock down comedy movie... :) , i Thought its a horror movie like kanjana , but its totally different, cinematography was good which had a crisp edit . The music was gullible. The make-up artists did a fine job in deriving the look of the ghosts. VFX was pretty good. comedy artist managed to crack great laughs. especially the small boy ghost, Time loop , ghost fighting with british ghost..LOL.. out of the box movie and Good Movie to time pass..

The film has its share of hilarious moments, especially with Yogi Babu totally in his elements, cracking the funniest dialogues with an absolutely straight face. The scary parts can be described better as weird and wacky, but after the entertaining the film soon shifts to sentiments and patriotism. best part is Little boy ghost with Karunakaran

I enjoyed a lot , especially Sathiyaraj and motta Rajendran are huge plus for film. While Yogi babu shines with his super oneliners and Karunakaran impresses with his comedy and makes more rofl moments especially the scene when he pulls the smallboy ghost from his back while drinking is a new experience in horror cinemas! Rajendran keeps the audience laughing when he appears! His timing and dialogue. Overall movie moves with good comedy and partly horrifying scenes and ends with entry of ghost Sathiyaraj. An enjoyable Hor-com film, watch with your family for having some fun laughter time, if you are looking for good comedy. corona times pass movies. :)

The horror element of the film works good and binds the film and its characters effectively. The expected suspense requirements of a horror flick are well realized. Good make-up and VFX . will watch for its Spoof Comedy. British Ghost vs Indian Ghost :) LOL

The unique idealogoy, best performances by veteran actor sathyaraj , a great comedy makes this movie very interesting , according to me. The movie presentation also make best in art work.

Watched in Sun next, very funny movie, The background score is good and the director has narrated the story differently and the cinematography work was also amazingly done. The movie can be watched once and it is entertaining also. It will be worthy of your time. Overall, predictable but a fun ride.

Director Dharani Dharan's debut movie Burma had some well executed dark comedy moments. In his second film JacksonDurai, the director has tried to use his comic strength along with spooky elements to score a commercial hit. Director's ideology of mixing fantasy, horror and spoof is laudable, Although all the actors are capable of pulling off the characters given to them, the unique screenplay offered big entertainment.

Dharanidharan has shown this film in interesting and unique manner. Sibraj looks apt for this role. He wanted to reveal the mystery behind the haunted area!! So, he start investigating it and funny scenes between Sibraj and Karunakaran worked well. BinduMadhavi is the female lead. She looks good !! She did her role perfectly according to that role.

JacksonDurai – Plus Points: Direction ,Script ,Art , Dialogues - Comedy , Cinematography & Background Score.

The story plot itself is interesting, which is about the fight between Indian and British Ghosts. Sathyaraj and Rajendran acted very well. Sibraj, Karunakaran and Bindu Madhavi performance are also good. Even though, the songs did not attract that much, But i enjoyed the movie till end. Overall, Jackson Durai is a decent horror comedy and watchable for the unique script and Brilliant Direction.

Watched in Sun Next, Nice movie for a good laugh..Spoof type. Time pass !!! Jackson Durai is yet another addition to most sort "horror-comedy genre". Under the direction of Dharanidharan, who directed Burma(who can forget). so i give the try, This horror story comes just gives out the picture how weird an idea can be but this director, who is just two movies old, knows what he needs from his screenplay, how it should look, feel and deliver the audience - a genius filmmaker - can make reverse zoom work even on a ghost. Simply brilliant!. but one time watchable.

I Liked the fim very much , especially the episodes involving Sibiraj and Yogi Babu, t dialogue slang and witty lines with sense of timing are major plus.The encounters of Sibiraj and Karunakaran in the haunted house, especially the sequence where the latter one reacts to the lady ghost and the little boy turns you crazy with laughter. Overall, Jackson Durai holds an intriguing tale that keeps it apart from stereotypical scary horrors, it got more beautiful right momentum and offer more comedy than scariness. The film lacks bone-chilling horror, but scores big time with the comic portions. Sibiraj and karunakaran complementing each other perfectly, they bring the roof down with their hilarious antics and brilliant comic timing.Though Naan Kadavul Rajendran has the audience screaming with laughter. The film is technically sound and the background music adequate. A decent pace, some excellent comedy and an engaging screenplay makes Jackson Durai worth a watch in Digital. Entertaining, funny, weird, we are kept amused thanks to the comedy elements. Overall, Jackson Durai works well with its wits and scares at right proportions. On the whole, Jackson Durai is a decent one-time watchable fare for its novel attempt in the horror genre.
