Most of the cast and crew, over 35 people, have NOT BEEN PAID
In April I worked on a production that is made for digital new media (online TV). Most of the cast and crew have not been paid.
The last day of production was April 14th. Cheryl Leader of Indivision2000 was the Director, Writer and Producer. Sean Malatesta of MiCasaTV is the investor, Executive Producer and owner of the content. The content is made for online digital TV (new media).
Most of the cast and crew, over 35 people, have not been paid.
Most of the crew left this production on April 12th when, after already working 12 hrs in Santa Paula, Cheryl Leader as Director, left the set, locked herself in her car for an hour, then backed her car into another producer's vehicle. They were afraid. They were working over 70 miles from home.
Two surveillance microphone (earpiece part of Walkie-talkie) were lost during production. Cheryl Leader states she will not pay people until they are found and/or returned to the rental house.
Cheryl Leader states in several emails that she is the employer and all cast and crew must abide by her rules. Cast and crew all have deal memos that state their rate and dates of hire.
After the wrap date (end date) of production, Cheryl Leader asked cast and crew to invoice her for payment. She stated in emails that it was acceptable to take up to 30 days to receive their pay.
Cheryl Leader stated that if anyone attempts to take her to court to be paid, they should know that her record of winning is "stellar."
Crew worked from April 8th through April 14th with no days off. Crew worked over 12 hr days with no OT offered or paid.
Cheryl Leader stated on the last day of filming that she did not want to allow the crew to eat after six hours because food would make them tired.
Most of the members of this cast and crew remain unpaid.
