I’ll admit, I rolled my eyes when it was announced that Nicholas Galitzine had been cast to play He-Man in the new live-action Masters of the Universe movie that’s supposed to be going into production very soon. Ahead of the movie's April 18th release in theaters, Warner Bros. revealed a new trailer for Sinners that sinks its teeth into visceral scares and unveils the vampiric side of its chilling and emotional story.

After what felt like endless delays and false starts, we're finally going to get a live-action Masters of the Universe movie in theaters next year. Nicholas Galitzine is playing He-Man and Suicide Squad and Morbius star Jared Leto will transform into the evil Skeletor.

The Hollywood Reporter (via SFFGazette.com) recently caught up with Galitzine and asked if he's been watching the classic He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon and, if so, how that compares to the upcoming movie.

"I have, yeah. Look, what I will say is our version is quite different from the original animation, which we all agree was camp within its own right and worked so well for the time," the actor explained. "But there’s been a couple of iterations, obviously since there was the Revelation version of Master of the Universe, and the comics themselves."

The last 150 feet of the 2,745 foot long structure dropped into the Pacific, according to local officials. The Transformers have been around as a live-action franchise since 2007, but when looking at the best movies in the series, there is a huge discrepancy when it comes to their success critically and commercially. Transformers One is the best Transformers movie in years, and potentially the best film in the entire franchise, but the next movie in the series will likely be much different. Transformers One was the first animated theatrical Transformers movie since 1986's The Transformers: The Movie. Considering how successful the animated Transformers shows have been, it is shocking that there haven't been more animated films. While the film was not a huge hit at the box office, it has a Rotten Tomatoes critics score of 89% and an amazing audience score of 98%.

Dedicated Transformers fans definitely want more animated Transformers films, but the series has always been more focused on live-action movies. Compared to the two animated films, there have been seven live-action Transformers movies. Director Michael Bay made five Transformers movies, and after he left the director's chair, there have been two more films: 2018's Bumblebee and 2023's Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

It’s strange to think that, of all the films based on toys we’ve had in cinemas since 2020, Transformers One is only really the second to be aimed squarely at a young audience. Even then, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (which is technically based on a comic book anyway) offered old folks a degree of respite with a grungy-Spider-Verse art style and the half-shelled heroes’ signature anarchism.

It’s equally strange that the Transformers franchise, eight feature films in, has spent most of the last 17 years appealing to teenage boys and your mate’s mate who you wish you weren’t obliged to keep inviting to the pub. 2018’s Bumblebee was the first film to break the series’ tradition of being both uncomfortably leery and headache-inducingly dull.
