'Surgery' was filmed at Brian Clemens' farm house. The same location as The Avengers (1961) episode Noon Doomsday (1968), starring Patrick Macnee and Linda Thorson.
The aerial shots were where Brian Clemens' Hammer Horror film, Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter (1974) was filmed in 1972.
Nicholas Ball got the role of 'The Crude Surgeon' because director Samuel Clemens and Nicholas share the same hairdresser. Harry at Hair London recommended Nicholas and after a quick conversation and read of the script, Nicholas signed on board.
